Introducing Day Number 20, the ’Iron Vagrant’ - Battle Mech

“What was once seen wandering the scattered plains, can now only be found in the grand museum. The Vagrants, despite belonging to a faction of raiders, possessed some of the most advanced robotics of their time; with an analog processor that allowed the suits to not only operate without their pilots, but also make calculations and factor into decisions that the organic component could not.

Despite being an early form of artificial intelligence, the raiders were said to have held a great deal of trust in the cores of these mechs, so much so that they developed bonds with them and cared greatly about the machines welfare.

This particular model is the last one known to still be in existence. Logs indicate that the owner tried to stay with the core in its last moments, but the AI chose to save the pilot, initiating protocol 3 and launching him away from the danger, before it was ultimately destroyed and its frame captured.

Today it stands a lone statue - a testament to the ingenuity of humanities designs, and a monument to the bravery and valour of the mechs and their pilots. ”
