Havoc (Walking Battlemech)

Description
The Havoc is the latest production model battlemech from Terran Armorworks. Weighing in at 36.6 metric tons and constructed almost completely out of heavy armor plating, this all-terrain vehicle is virtually impervious to small arms fire, carries a withering assortment of firepower, and is capable of carrying out a wide variety of ground attack missions.

ARMAMENT:
- 6 X AUTOCANNONS
- 4 X MISSILE RACKS

POWERPLANT:
- 8 X SMALL NUCLEAR REACTORS

CONVEYOR SYSTEM?
- YES

The leg design was inspired by JoeTheAntiPro's "cool looking walking mech", and incorporates 3 rotor joints, a mass block, and a landing gear in each. The landing gear is set to "autolock", so you shouldn't have to worry about operating them. Walking is made possible by properly timing the activation of action groups that contain the leg rotors. It can take some practice, but it becomes very easy eventually. You can enter the mech by accessing the cockpit through the top hatch. You will need 3rd person view for now, but I have installed a camera so that you will hopefully be able to control the mech in first person in some future update of the game. For now, the camera is just a gun camera.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU WALK:
The mechs in this save are ready to go, but you should always make sure that the action groups labeled "front thrusters" and "bottom thrusters" are turned off. These are located on the second page of your toolbar while piloting the mech, and it is important that these groups are toggled off as to not resist your momentum. "Stabilization thrusters" controls all other thrusters and should be left on.

WALKING (FOR TAN MECHS ONLY):
(All walking controls are located on the first page of your tool bar)
1) Press either 4 or 5 to start with either the left or right foot.
2) Whenever the forward-stretched foot is about to contact the ground and is approximately parallel to the ground, press 3 to reverse both legs. Continually doing this should make the mech walk forwards. If you need to turn, just gently move the mouse to the side while in step.
3)To return the mech to a standing position, press the reverse key for the leg which is stretched backwards.

See UPDATE for Grey mech directions!

TORSO TWISTING:
The torso of the mech is capable of twisting independently of the legs, although this always works best when the landing gear in the legs are locked to something. You can either use the rotor controls on the 7 and 8 key of the first page of your toolbar to turn left or right, or you can just do so using the mouse. With both methods, I suggest caution and a light touch.

FLIGHT MODE:
The legs make flying difficult, but it can be done if needed. All you need to do is go to the second page of your toolbar, toggle on all thruster groups, and disable the massblocks. The mech responds fairly well to up, down, and side to side movement, but using the forward thrusters is not a very efficient way of getting around because of the misaligned center of mass and the inability to control thrusters through rotors.

OPERATING CONDITIONS:
The havoc can operate in gravity fields of 1-3 G's, although 2G is the most ideal. It begins to experience difficulty at 4 or more G's.

Thank you very much for viewing my work and getting to the bottom of this wall of text. If you have any questions or feedback, do not hesitate to post in the comments below!

UPDATE: I have now included a new model of the Havoc which has the ability to walk by itself using timers! These versions can be identified by their dark grey paint scheme and should be much easier to pilot. All you need to do is get into the cockpit, and press 3. It should begin and perpetuate the walk cycle automatically. To stop, simply press 6 (or spam it until it stops. Sometimes the timer blocks can be a little unresponsive!) These models use experimental technology, so report any malfunctions you encounter!

@Donyxz: It pleases me to hear that you were able to improve upon my design. :) I had never thought of trying to make it jump, so props for getting that to work!

@>oG Exphiser919: I haven't put out a remote control version of this mech because I don't feel that alone would justify an update, considering all you have to do is add a remote control block somewhere and you're done. :) However, a lot of people have suggested implementing the "emergency flight protocol" you suggested. I might go back and change that, or it may end up in an upcoming design. Thanks for the suggestions!

You should make the mech REMOTE CONTROL

With new update: Emergency flight protocall: toggle flight engines, and detatch torso rotor

You did a spectacular job with these. Under 1G settings, I've even managed to get one to Jump(with a lil work and coaxing) For convenience and efficiency sake, I wound up reworking the button setup.
8 for synched leg control. 4 for left leg, 6 for right, 7 and 9 for torso movement. I also tweaked the torque of the torso rotor so that only the torso turns, and it doesn't overpower the legs' locks.
Well programmed, good sir. Even the tan ones(for which I have a special love) work beautifully.
