Diego Mendoza witnessed the tragic death of his parents as innocent bystanders in a cartel shootout in their Ciudad Juárez suburb. 'Surviving only by the Grace of the Lord,' as his abuela would say, young Diego, adopted by his paternal grandmother, found himself under her overprotective care. Even the slightest sneeze led to confinement in his room.
With only an old black-and-white TV airing American coaching shows on infinite loop, Diego immersed himself in motivational books. At the age of 12, he made a solemn vow to break free from Juárez's impoverished suburb and committed to facing and conquering all his phobias.

Today, as one of the top 5 North American motivational coaches (and, crucially for A.I.M., the only one willing to operate in combat areas), Diego Mendoza has undeniably fulfilled the first part of his promise. Regarding the second part, he readily admits, 'It's still a work in progress.'
