IMDC - Akula-class - Escort Mk.II

Description
IMDC Akula-class Escort Mk.II
The Akula-class was originally designed to be a cheap, mass produced escort support vessel. Designed to counter enemy fighters, she can take on vessels twice her size and give them a good beating. And while each Akula-class might be weak on her own, put them in a squadron and you in for a rough time.

But with the introduction of the Mk.II , this ship has been has undergone a redesign adding a new bridge, Captain's quatres, and focusing the ship from an anti fighter roll to an anti-ship roll. New armaments include four Assault Cannons and two powerful Railguns.

In the coming years Akula-class Escort Mk.II will become a main stay in IMDC Fleet Operations.

The Mk.I was decent at handling enemy fighter if they were suing the previous meta, which is to say Gatling Guns and Rocket Launchers.

But now fighters are packing Assault Cannons and Artillery, so the Mk.II needed more fire power that could fire at an extended range, plus be able to deal damage at said range.

Hence the upgrade.

The Akula Mk.I was a good ship due to it's anti small grid capabilities and it's low Pcu and generally low cost, dunno why you'd make one with anti large grid capabilities when you could just make a Protos Corvette which bridges the gap between it and an Atlas Frigate. Still a good update.
