Cold Front (Part 1)

Description

After fighting their way North through ravenous hordes, Nick, Coach, Ellis, and Rochelle abandon their boat at a nearby dock due to a collapsed bridge.
With nowhere else to go, the survivors head inland in hopes of finding rescue.
Unbeknownst to them, the frostbite will be the least of their worries.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inspired by Fuze Studios’ Left 2 Die[www.roblox.com], Cold Front is a fresh, new custom campaign that takes the fight against the infected hordes up north to a colder climate.

Currently, Cold Front supports Coop, Versus, and most Mutations.
For more details on planned features and updates, click here.
For the Gamemaps mirror, click here.[www.gamemaps.com]
If you are hard of hearing and require subtitles, the accessibility patch can be found here.

Cold Front features many new ideas and overhauls of established concepts found in the base game.
  • 5 full-length maps, on par with the longest campaigns from the base game.
  • Varied and interesting environments; Each map takes you through unique locations.
  • A fresh new theme not often seen; Brace the storm before the horde.
  • Fully customized talker scripts for brand new conversations and reactions.
  • An interactable world: Various things around the map can actually be used!
  • Dynamic finale; Influenced by your skills, you have multiple ways to escape.
  • Enhanced storm mechanic - Just like Hard Rain, but more impactful.
  • Custom soundtracks created specifically for this project by talented musicians.
  • Hundreds of custom and unique Infected that match the campaign’s theme.
  • Over 400 custom voicelines recorded by multiple skilled voice actors.
  • Thorough balancing for all difficulties - You won’t need director tips, just follow the flow.
  • Plenty of eastereggs and references to search for and discover.
  • And lots more.

YOU NEED ALL 3 PARTS FOR THE CAMPAIGN TO WORK.
Don’t complain about something being broken if you didn’t properly install all parts. Any such comments will be ignored.
For legitimate bugs, report them here.

The following mods may conflict with the campaign:
  • Custom populations (The campaign uses its own custom models and populations that will conflict.)
  • 4+ players and Survivor Swaps (May break areas that require only the L4D2 survivors to be around.)
  • Bill voice replacement mods (Will conflict with custom voicelines.)
  • Survivor ragdoll mods (May crash the game when a survivor dies.)

It is recommended to play without these types of mods, even if they do not show up as conflicting in the Add-On list.
I will try to fix as many conflicts as possible, so if you'd like to help with that, refer to this discussion post.

@THE KERMIT EXPERIENCE - Reduce the amount of Add-Ons you have installed. L4D can’t handle many resource-intense mods at the same time.

crashes constantly for me i really dont understand why

@pryogga - Not a problem with the map, it's something on your end causing it; Most likely a specific mod, or having too many mods installed.

@Shadow Bonfie - Crashes only happen when too many other mods are installed.

Good to know. I do have some that do quite a few different things. Needless to say, it was the mods. Thanks for the help, I'm glad I got to experience this campaign to the fullest!

@The Old Taylor Swiftsz - The ones you do have installed are likely very resource-intense. The quantity of mods doesn't matter for these types of things, it's dependent on how much they change/how intense their respective files are.

10 reanimation mods are going to be less demanding than 1 HD textures mod where half the game's textures are upscaled.

@JAiZ I don't have many installed but will turn them off and give it another go and check out the audio fix. Thanks and fingers crossed.

My god... This custom campaign is a testament to what gaming should be! 100% perfect, and I don't say this lightly; this campaign is legitimately perfection! The attention to detail alone is 10/10, but the secrets and Easter eggs add to this already awesome experience!
JAiZ  [author] 25 Aug @ 4:55am
@The Old Taylor Swiftsz - You probably have too many other mods installed, since the campaign runs at a consistent 120 FPS on my PC, and it was even tested on a 2005 laptop where it never dropped below 30 FPS.
This was benchmarked across dozens of different devices and users, and thousands of people are playing it just fine.

Crashes are exclusively due to mods or hardware issues. The campaign was thoroughly stress-tested and runs perfectly fine in the vanilla game. It does, however, take up more resources than most other campaigns for obvious reasons, and L4D just isn't designed to be heavily modded, so you can't allocate half the game's resources to other mods when playing it.

The audio stutters are confirmed to be due to having too many/HQ sound mods installed, and a fix is listed in the Bug Reports discussion.
