Sands of War was made by Spanky for the CoH Worldbuilders 2024 Mapping Competition. Open submissions closed 15 January 2024 with results revealed 18 April 2024. Community members such as top players, streamers, mappers, and even professionals served as judges. Due to the anonymous nature of the competition, GBPirate uploaded all maps to the Workshop on behalf of the contestants.

It's so awesome that you're running a map competition. My crew has been playing a wide variety of these maps and have really enjoyed the creativity. Keep it up, mappers!!

Weird trend these blocky territory layouts, it's very unnatural, and does not make for interesting gameplay. In fact it feels downright uninspired, in that it doesn't follow natural formation and functions like the whole map is a city district, which could work well if it was only in the city & ruin part.
Too bad because otherwise the map flows rather well. Those Y roads could have been great cutoffs instead of not mattering, with weird sectors.

I have played the map twice now and it has a good flow I can't explain it but the flow of the map feels good with the current territory layout.
