This started out as an Aussie Multiplayer Server - but it was removed from being public, and left running for a long time.

Ever wondered what would happen if you left a server running a long time and had no griefers? This comes pretty close.

Very MOD heavy. Not sure how well workshop will handle it. You will need a powerful computer.

Should only contain working mods at this point. Will adjust mods as they break in updates in future. Even if you have to remove all the mods, it's still a nice base.

Contains early remains of original Aussie Asteroids Multiplayer Server Base and mining ships. However they have been basically left as is. On the other asteroid on the other hand, is a large self contained base with two hangers and several landing pads. It also contains a passenger docking terminal, accomodation for civilians, a recreation room, an officers section, command centre, mine, shipping crates, junkyard, a deep space mining vessel, an armoury, guard posts, hydroponic lab, alien artifacts, experimental star ships.. you name it. Fair few hours of work here.

Uses many mods for visual effect. Pretty busy looking facility really.

Ah, so it wasn't one of yours, just a drifter. Amazing the kind of stuff you find on public servers, just hiding out in the boonies.

Yes, found it, parked it on the roof. Interesting.

Like the red ship?

Done and updated. Found a few surprises, but nothing as awesome as that original space hulk

I could also try changing its position in se toolbox, and set speed to 0.. that might be easier :)

Are you the host, or admin for this world? If so, you might sneak in a script to see if you can use it to get to ships.

It would require a 2 phase effort. First, open the most recent server game file in SE Toolbox, so you can get the location info for the ships.

Then, in the Workshop, is Midspace's (author of SET) Mega help api script. It has a location move ability (for player, or player and piloted ship, without rotors), that can get you into the vacinity of these derelicts.

Just an idea.

There is also about 3 generations of spawn ships I have found, although a large amount was cut up for construction materials; bits of them remain at the salvage yard; or adapted to welding or towing ships :)... this map was online for a fair while - so doubtless theres heaps. I wanna hunt those other ships down now to haul them back to the junk yard now :o) without a beacon tho, dont like my chances short of using a map editor of some sort to change their position.

I also recall a mining ship working in one of the asteroids when I first joined the map aggges ago; the pickup ship is still there but i could never find the miner again.

I am curious about that red one tho - I thought only my one had been painted red. Early on a few ones drifted away after being dragged next to the others, or maybe they were already too far gone to find. Someone needs to make some sort of object tracking mod!

IF you want to see that ship, intact, with all the boobies, find the world 'Failing Ship' on Workshop. You'll start in Creative, since that's the only way to spawn where you need to.

Exit the ship, and wait. Very shortly, you'll have a Transport (in green) come into range, go out, and take it over (remember, turn it around 180 degrees before hitting the ID.

This ship is a textbook example of just how evil Keen was in the beginning.

The MineLayers got reduced, but not completely, and your world has 2 of the pre Conveyor Escorts, with their boobies pretty much intact.

Since you mentioned that Transport, I went and took a look at it. I didn't make it inside when I recognized what it was.

It was a PRE-Conveyor design. That ship had no less than FIVE boobytraps built in.

First one, you can identify the location by looking just under where that tube goes in. See that red heavy armor block? Behind that block, would have been an engine pointing at a warhead, right behind the Large Reactor.

The Second is under the deck in the main hold.

On each side of that hold, you have 1 large container, just outboard of them, are a pair of ramps heading up, if you had ground out the lower one, on each side, you'd have found booby 3 and 4.

The Fifth, was sneaky. In the Control Console, if you had done any vertical movments, you'd have discovered it rather quickly. Right above is 3 ramps, and grinding the one above the console would show you an engine pointing down.

So the destruction you describe, matches that ship version. :)

Took a look at the world with SE Toolbox, you still have a bunch of stuff thousands of KM out. Including one MineLayer. Or more precisely, what's left of one after the Warheads detonate.

As well as several Respawn ships (and partials of them), one painted all bright red, and, from before a fix patch, several doors from Military Transports when they updated them to have functional blast doors that opened.

When they were originally updated, the code that despawned those ships wasn't configured to handle the rotor parts and the attached blast doors, and tended to despawn the rest of the ship, leaving the doors.

Beyond the farthest Roid, you got lose ore, hand tools, and construction parts floating loose. :)
