Description

Overview
Combining the technology of the AGM-17 and the effectiveness of the AGM-16, the AGM-18F "Marlin" is an extremely long range cruise missile with an advanced two way data-link allowing seamless connection during battle. Similar to its predecessor, the Marlin can receive real time target updates up to 20km away. If this connection is lost the missile will automatically save the last known position of the target and continue on it's flight path. The missile is also immune to chaff, making it extremely difficult to avoid.

Specifications
  • Supersonic
  • EHCS compatible
  • Two-way data-link
  • 17x3x3 blocks

Operation
Simplest operation: Put it on a plane with EHCS.

Setup
  • Underneath the missile is a controller with an option for air launch, if you are launching from an aircraft turn this on. This will engage a separation booster and delay launch so the missile doesn't strike the launch aircraft.
  • When launching from the ground there is a sliding connector on the bottom to assist in helping the missile leave the launch tube. If you don't have a tube, don't worry about this.

Data-Link
The Marlin utilizes a two-way data-link to help with engagement times and battle space awareness. To set the radio frequency, input the channel on Number Channel 5 through the hardpoint. The missile receives data on number channels 1, 2, and 3, for X, Y, and Z (altitude), respectively. The missile will communicate back on this channel plus 1. The incoming data is formatted as such:
  • Channel 1 - Position X
  • Channel 2 - Position Y
  • Channel 3 - Position Z (altitude)
  • Channel 4 - Velocity
  • Channel 5 - Distance to Target
  • Channel 6 - Time to Impact (seconds)

If the channel is set to 0, the missile will not receive in-flight updates to avoid easy jamming.

Feel free to use this on any creation, all I ask for is a link to this page.
