Description
**I am not the creator of this map. This is just a port to Dominions 6. This version of the map was originally uploaded by Edi on Shrapnel Games Forum in Oct 2008 with other versions of the map going back even further.

Caves work, it does NOT have winter.

Original Description

provinces: 397 land and 69 sea

"In the midst of the Godswar, new powers from outside the known planes of existence have invaded the Forgotten Realms and overthrown the old pantheon and its overgod, Ao. With the newcomer Gods falling into disagreement over the division of their conquest, a great upheaval has come upon Faerun. Out of the ashes of the old order they have gathered armies of followers, each determined to vanquish all erstwhile allies and claim sole Dominion over Faerun.

BORDERS AND NEIGHBORS

Some provinces have neighbors relatively far away because they are large trading ports. The best examples are Waterdeep, Calimport and Baldur's Gate. Seas can also be crossed by island hopping over narrow straits. Use of the neighbors filter is recommended.

SPECIAL PROVINCES

There are several special provinces on the map. These provinces may simply have something that sets them slightly apart from ordinary provinces, or they may be vital to the Ascension of a newly wakened godling. Some are strongholds of established Powers and will resist conquest with all of their considerable might."

Sounds good on the new version. This was just a port I did to get it available to people. Certainly appreciate a proper porting with fixes and I will put the link in the description of this one so anyone who finds this can find it.

fyi, this is not the adventure version. It does not have any special provinces at all I am currently porting the adventure version + will do more fixes and include preset throne provinces and starts.
Its almost done, will include the link on here soon.

The High Moor provinces both have the swamp and waste terrain, which will drain population without significant growth scales. This is concerning because the provinces are within the cap circle of one the of the designated nation spawns.

Southern High Moor (311) appears to start with zero population everytime I come accross the province. Of course it may just be being hit by bad events before I reach it, but I am pretty sure this wasnt the case with the Dom 5 version. Thanks for the port though anyway. I am enjoying it.

Province #62 - Swamps of Chult, current terrain type "forests and river". This may be an aesthetic choice but if it's not I thought I'd let you know

Alright, I did what you said and it added 52 mountains into the map. I tested it and all seems good so pushed the update. Will require a new game to see the mountain terrain.

Thanks for uploading this map. I never played it in dom 5, but I'm enjoying it now.

I think it could use some tweaks, though. When uploading maps from dom5, they need some conversion, otherwise what were mountains in Dom5 will no longer be mountains and will instead become provinces where holy sites are preferred. You'll see this if you load this map up and look for mountains; you'll find only highlands.

The quick fix is to find any #terrain command where the second argument has a value of 4194304 or higher. This was the dom 5 bitmask value for mountains, but is in dom 6 the bitmask to indicate that the engine should place more holy sites there than usual. Take the value of the second argument, subtract 4194304 (dom 5 mountains) and then add 8388608 (dom 6 mountains). Or a quicker way is just to add 4194304 to the existing value.

So, for example:
#terrain 15 4196136
becomes
#terrain 15 8390440

It should be fixed now. I just tested it and it was loading properly. I think it should auto update for everyone subbed.

Anyone else having the issue where loading a game blanks the map?
