Yoshiaki Fujiwara

Known as Japan's 'Submission Master', Yoshiaki Fujiwara is a legendary Japanese Pro-Wrestler and Shoot Fighting legend.

Trained by 'The God of Wrestling' Karl Gotch, Yoshiaki Fujiwara helped revolutionize the Martial Arts boom of the 1980's in Japan. Teaming with Satoru Sayama, Akira Maeda, Kazuo Yamazaki, Osamu Kido and Nobuhiko Takada, Fujiwara was a key figure in the formation of UWF Japan; a promotion with a stronger emphasis on realistic combat.

After the UWF's collapse, other enormously-popular promotions structured on UWF's mentality would flourish in the early 90's such as Akira Maeda's Fighting Network RINGS, Nobuhiko Takada's UWFI, and Masakatsu Funaki's PANCRASE.
