Seeing the success with the first iteration of the Retribution class as it was the ESDF first true carrier class, many trials and errors caused the decision to refit the class to improve on the lessons learned, this was to primarily enhance its fighter handling capability among other changes.
The refit to the Retribution class consists of lengthen the rear flight deck to increase the amount of fighter the carrier could carry and also to increase the length slightly for the forward flight deck, the refit also increased its upwards thrusters for better planetary flight.
The Retribution has also had its weapons changed from assault turrets to rocket turrets and its side landing pads have had their size increased in order to accommodate larger aircraft.
