DE Tram | AEG / Adtranz GT8N (Bremen)

After a prototype of the GT6N type had been in service since July 1990, the BSAG Bremen decided to order 78 GT8N trams. A few days later on October 15th it was presented to the public. The GT8N replaced the old Hansa cars and are used on all Bremen tram lines. The vehicles were modernized between 2007 and 2012, adapting the vehicles to the design of the successor generation GT8N-1 Bremen. Since January 2020 the vehicles are scrapped, getting replaced by the new GT8N-2. Today only 15 GT8N are still in service.
