EA Imass | Malazan Book of the Fallen

This nation is based on the Imass from the Malazan Book of the Fallen and the Kharkanas Trilogy by Steven Erikson. The setting is before the Ritual of Tellann, making these the precursors to the T'lan Imass.

The Imass are a humanoid race of human forebears that live nomadic lives in the forests and savannahs of the world. Imass are more squat than humans, short and broad, with smooth honey-coloured skin, long black hair, and thick, deep voices. Their stone weapons can cut through the finest armor. They make their homes in caves and hide tents, living together in small clans by hunting with their dogs. They are skilled toolmakers, working with flint and bone, but compared to human civilisation they are less technologically advanced. Their leaders are the bonecasters, skilled mages of fire, earth, nature and astral. Furthermore, they are also soletaken - powerful shapeshifters who take animal forms. Imass are wise in the ways of the natural world and possess strength, tenacity, and magical abilities capable of challenging others. Now, they are driven by their fanatical devotion to their god and have come together as one in order to wage holy war upon the other races.

Pretenders
- Wolves of Winter: Dom4 trinity with two huge wolves (Togg & Fanderay) and the Beast Throne. Reduced magic when not in the same province; the beast throne is immobile and cannot teleport.
- Deragoth: Dom2 demonic hounds with berserk and magic claws/bites. It summons 6 other hounds in battle as normal warriors to represent the fact that there are seven of them.
- Jaghut Tyrant: Dom3 (but only size 6) ice/water mage with fear, awe, and is a slaver.
- Eldest Bonecaster: Dom2 dragon/shapechanger, a bonecaster that shapeshifts into a fire dragon.
