Curtiss Hawk III [China] (SWITCH TO VANILLA VERSION INSTEAD)

Hawk III was an export variant of a rather unsuccesful Curtiss BF2C naval biplane. Unlike its infamous cousin that had an unfortunate honor of being one of the shortest serving carrier-borne airplanes, Hawk III was more successful and popular with its users.

Republic of China purchased a total of 102 of Hawk III planes in total, although only around 70 of them were present by the beginning of active combat against Japanese forces in July of 1937. Thanks to its armament which consisted of one .30 and one .50 machine guns, it was the most heavily armed fighter that Chinese Air Force had at its disposal at the time, and it could also cover the lack of bombers thanks to its above average bomb load. Hawk III were fairly successful during fights against Japanese biplanes, however, they were not a match for the latest Japanese fighter monoplane designs, and, as a result, suffered heavy losses during the war.

After the battle of Nanking, Hawk III planes were gradually withdrawn from the frontline service, being replaced by Soviet I-15 and I-16, and were primarily used in training units since then.

This mod adds Hawk III fighter-bomber as a new standalone vehicle. It features a very impressive bomb load of 1x250kg bomb and 4x100kg ones that stand for smaller 50kg ones (basically twice the bomb load of a real thing because where is the fun in having to select either or when you can have all of them at the same time). Armed with a single .30 (600 rounds) and a single .50 (400 rounds, I couldn't find the real numbers) machine guns, it might not be the most dangerous opponent in the air, but it shouldn't be too defenseless either.
