"Velscia is a league of two nations - the splendorous, civilized Velsci and their erstwhile hill-dwelling allies, the Akri. Both were driven from their home country by Ermor long ago, and resettled at the foot of a great volcano known as Mons Soracte. The Numina of the land presented themselves to both tribes during a midsummer hecatomb, and offered each people the strength to defend themselves, provided they band together in defense of their new home. To the Velsci they gave a magnificent garden with enormous hot springs, where men grow strong, wise and powerful, and to the Akri they granted the power of ashen earth and elemental fire. In return, they demand only sacrifice. Velscia has resisted every threat since then, and matured into a league of great strength but little influence. The Velsci city-states, though hopelessly stratified, remain secure and prosperous, and the Akri attend to their hearths in the mountains, ignorant of the outside world. With the coming of the Awakening God, however, both may yet seek greatness beyond their homeland. The powers of the Numina grow strong in the hands of great men of excellence, their armies well-ordered and numerous - it may be time for revenge."

My first mod nation, made in the month since the release of Dominions 6. It is a Nature/Fire/Earth nation with a strong focus on human troops and mountain recruitables. I tried to make something that would feel at home in vanilla Dominions, but balance is a work in progress.

lares.dm is a bonus mod that gives EA Ermor, MA Pythium and LA Pythium 'Bequest of the Old Faith' - a new national ritual that summons a random Velsci Lar for a hefty price in Earth gems. It can be used independently of ashes.dm.
