EA Tyrax, Awakening Crypts v1.1

Description
The ancient kingdom of Tyrax is known only from its ruins that bear mysterious inscriptions and ominous portents. In the past, the bountiful nation of Tyrax was subverted by demonic beings that infiltrated society, slowly turning it decadent and sinful. The previous Pantokrator punished Tyrax by banishing the demons and destroying the cities with natural calamities. Now, with the Pantokrator gone, the old crypts of Tyrax are starting to awaken as the banished demons have returned.

Originally, this was a Dominions 3 mod that I never released. Basically, I managed to pull certain skeletal and zombie undead creatures from Diablo II, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, and other sources to create an undead/demon nation. Event modding did not exist in Dominions 3, but now I managed to add some freespawn capabilities to it. I'm not good at balancing nations in general, and freespawn nations is something I have absolutely no idea how to handle. All my previous nations received quite a lot of balance feedback and should be comparable to vanilla nations, but I have no clue how Tyrax would work in terms of balance. In any case, I guess it could work as an AI nation. I have another nation with a similar concept that I haven't released back in the day, so I may update/rework that one as well.

@kid
You'll have to manually change the era value in the mod file on your end.

is there any way to allow this mod to be affected by Oneage / All MA?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm honestly surprised that this nation got some multiplayer exposure. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and I'll see if I can fix some of the issues you outlined.

Oh, right. Dark Elder or whatever his name is also a bit of a weird national hero - he's just a really bad mage you get randomly for free. He stayed in my cap as a research monkey forever and I'm not sure what else anyone would ever do with him.

Corpsefire and N'aix, by contrast, were unique and useful.

I played this one in a bring-your-own modnations game, running an imprisoned D9 Statue of the Underworld with all scales maxed except for Death/Growth which was neutral. They're very weird as undead nations go because they tend towards being a scales nation - you absolutely want to be recruiting as many skeletons per turn as possible.

I found the variety of units a bit puzzling, since many of them are repeats or basically useless - they have three types of skeleton archer and three types of skeleton frontliner, and unless you need the elemental resists, you should probably only make skeletal archers and returned respectively. Similarly, returned mages, banished, ghoul lords, and night lords don't really have any call for being produced in place of their stronger versions.

The freespawn are soulless-tier and not very numerous, but at least they're free. (Though, the Hungry Dead's berserking doesn't work since they're mindless, I think.) The golems are also pretty useless, such that I never summoned any to notice their broken attack frames, and similarly the Flesh Golem's berserking wouldn't work.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed Tyrax and came close to winning. Dark Lords are amazing anyfort mages, Horror Mages can provide researchers in a pinch and can random interestingly, undead dragons are extremely good and cheap summons, and having hundreds and hundreds of upkeep-free skeletons is great fun.

Thanks! Going to fix it soon

The bone golems' attack frame's image is not transparent. It's a huge black box. Otherwise, this is a fun take on an undead faction!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll fix all this in the nearest future.

Bugs:
Death recruitment is fucked up, all units show as having DR1 (which is too low, should be at above 10% of their price), but some show up having it higher (horror mage) or don't have it at all (phantom).
In few units descriptions it says they are resistant to elements, but are only resistant to lightning, add fire res or change description, similar with returned mages, it says they can do elemental but can only fire and air.
Skeletal dragon has black background (wrong file extension maybe?) https://imgur.com/a/FovXUAK . Also it only has one attack, no claw or tail attacks.

Suggestions:
You might want to add +1 or +2 death scale limit to the nation.
Undead sculpting is not worth mage turn. I would make it D1 and make it reanimate both bone and flesh golem at a time.
Greater undead sculpting is better but still could use some buff.

PS: Skeletal Bat is cute as hell.
