Description
DESCRIPTION:

This mod adds a decision to create the Civitaseterna, a planetary shield system that makes your planet immune to planetary bombardment.

Although it's powerful, I've balanced it by allowing you to decide how costly it is to maintain.

AI Usage:
  • The AI does not use this mod, so it's all yours to enjoy.

Requirements:
  • The initial decision requires the Mega Engineering tech and can only be made on the capital planet.
  • Cost: Energy: 50,000; Alloys: 10,000; Enactment Time: 3600 days.
  • The decision adds a deposit and a modifier.

Command Center Deposit:
  • Adds 20 stability
  • Reduces crime by 100
  • Increases army health by 200%
  • Provides 4 commander jobs and 1 commander job per 50 pops

Upkeep Options:
  • You can choose from 4 different upkeep options (see first image).

Pop Jobs:
  • Ruler Commander: Adds 5 defense armies and spawns 15 shield operators. Produces 250 unity and 1 influence. Upkeep: 100 energy and 50 alloys.
  • Specialist Operator: Adds 4 defense armies. Produces 50 unity. Upkeep: 25 energy and 10 alloys.

Additional Decisions:
  • Refresh Defense Armies: Instantly refreshes the initial 20 defense armies, allowing you to infinitely create the same defense armies.
  • Spawn Assault Armies: Spawns a number of assault armies based on the number of specialist generator jobs from this mod that are being used by pops.

Special Features:
  • Colossus Ships: Automatically destroys all enemy colossus ships that enter the system, with an event notification for both attacker and defender.
  • Planetary Devastation: Monthly event resets planetary devastation, clears blockers from bombing, and repairs buildings.

LIMITS:

  • Damage Cap: Due to game mechanics, it's impossible to completely remove bombardment damage, but it’s capped at ~98%. An event every 30 days removes all devastation if your planet has the mod's modifier.
  • Building Damage & Blockers: Prolonged bombardment can damage buildings and create blockers. Measures are in place to counteract this, but while the blockers are removed, there still is a slight problem with district slots.
  • Pop Immortality: Pops are immortal under bombardment unless planetary devastation exceeds ~25. Armies still take damage, so bombardment can eventually force submission, but with many armies, this will take a long time. A decision is available to help remedy this.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • This mod doesn't affect any vanilla game files and should work fine with other mods.
  • It changes the game sum, so it's not achievement compatible.

  • Most icons are from the base game, with a few from Gigas.

So my understanding of this is that its virtually impossible to destroy the planet, it must be invaded? Or in the case of upkeep, destroy every other planet and starve them out so they cannot maintain it?

So does it ALWAYS kill the colossi that come into the system, or is there a way to protect the colossus

Hey, it's a nice mod. Honestly it's way more logical than shielding a planet with a collosi: How does the shield even mantain himself.
