True, modding doesn't make any money, but that's sometimes why the temptation to turn to LLMs exist, modding is a hobby that people have to try and fit in between the cracks of their daily life, like work, school, and family. Someone who only has a small bit of time to spare for their hobby, it's perfectly understandable why they'd feel the need to use such shortcuts.

@FortuneHost : well unlike them, it's not Money that drives me, it's the Challenges that drive me into doing some good for the communities i create these mods for, this is why i will never and ever will ask for any money.

No matter how "advanced" the model, so-called "AI" programs (i tend to default to the term LLM, myself) just regurgitate flat monotone dialogue that's only convincing on the most surface levels, and never has the highs and lows, the inflections and variations that humans use on a daily basis.

If you're just a modder strapped for cash and/or time, I can absolutely understand why the temptation to go the LLM route exists, but you get what you pay for, and that goes for an investment of time just as much as it does money. You put in the extra time to do it right, you put in the time to polish everything to a fine sheen, and that makes all the difference.

@FortuneHost : well Said and like i said i'm always open to methods to Improve the work that i do and as for the Voicelines, you don't need AI, you just need anyone who is talented in Voiceacting.

No problem. It's just that, as a modder myself (for a different game, granted) I know that getting feedback and encouragement as well as expressions of interest from fellow players always brightens up my day and makes me feel like the hours of work mattered, so trying to extend the same courtesy to folks whose work piques my interest.

Plus, I love how you're using an actual VA and not just movie clips or, god forbid, an AI. That is an admirable level of commitment to quality that I think should be celebrated.

@FortuneHost: well i'm still waiting for 626 to Do some new Voicelines at the moment, so no updates planned for now.

Interesting, this work in progress will be one to watch. Any chance you could include some preview videos/voice samples so we can hear the VA's lines for ourselves before installing? In the meantime, subbing to both this and the player model, as well as subscribing to this discussion so I can keep tabs on this unique project.

Hey Thomas, i'm sorry to disturb you once again but listen, if you got nothing planned to do next, please make modern sonic and mario friends survivors:

- Sonic replaced Nick
- Tails replaced Ellis
- Mario replaced Coach
- Peach replaced Rochelle
