@ᣡuckto take a look at the mod folder, it's essentially changing textures however you like, use some basic editing software and rename the file. For scripting the particle effects it's a little different but if you know any programming it's simple. it's like a config file that tells the program what colour the particle is, how fast it is emitted, how long it lasts etc.
If you find a texture that is overwriting one you don't want then subscribe to both and simply remove the texture you don't like from that mod folder.
You can find the mod folder in your steamapps/workshop/content/489630 folder (that's the main folder for gladius mods) the numbers in there are mod ids which you can find on the mod steam page. for example this mod id is 3165966932, you can see that at the top left of this page in the url
