Necromancers Everywhere !

More necromancers, including goblin necromancers, elf necromancers, kobold necromancers, and so on.

!!! What This Mod Does !!!

This mod aims to introduce more necromancers during world generation.

What This Mod Does:

It enables elves, goblins, and kobolds to become necromancers by:

Removing immortality from elves/goblins (replaced by a very long lifespan).
Adding the Pantheon religion to goblins, elves, kobolds, and animal people to encourage veneration of DEATH (and consequently increase the likelihood of becoming necromancers).

It facilitates the spread of necromancy by adjusting various other parameters (some may be placebo and require further testing!).
I have tested the mod, but not extensively; further testing is needed as this is the first version.

Note that the generation of necromancers during worldgen doesn't guarantee that there will ALWAYS be more necromancers than in vanilla. It is highly probable (and easily verifiable by external tools like Legend Viewer), but with no absolute guarantee.

!!! What This Mod Does Not Do !!!

This mod has only an indirect influence on tower appearance.

Towers are constructed by necromancers, but this dynamically occurs in interaction with many parameters during the worldgen; for example, necromancers might go to already-built towers without carring of building another one, they also might rules minor site of an already existing Necromancer civilisation (a necromancer civilisation have a central tower but can take hamlet, town etc, in those case a necromancer can rule those places).
Necromancer elves or goblins can also rule their (non undead) people without being detected for a long time due to their long lifespan. It is not uncommon for necromancer goblins to rule their people or random groups of adventurers, etc.

Also, please note that the game does not always name the towers accurately. After digging with Legend Viewer, it appears that some of the human towers, mainly, can indeed be built and occupied by other races like goblins or kobolds.

Another point: to build a tower, necromancers have to find dead bodies (after a battle, for example) and revive them into undead. This is one of the conditions. This means that the necromancer has to wander the land, which can be dangerous. This is the reason why dangerous, savage worlds will yield fewer towers at the beginning.

All these factors make the creation of towers a bit random.
My advice : If you have difficulties to have towers and want more, generate more history (for example 250 years and more). This help the secret of life and death to spread, this is really random in the first 50 years of history but it is more predictible over time.

Installation :

Just subscribe to the mod. It should work.

Conflicts :

I have not detected any conflicts but feel free to comment if you find any.
For information, this mod modify mainly, with not invasive code, Goblins, Human, Kobold and Elves civilisation and also Elves and Goblins creature (for the lifespan). It should be compatible with nearly everything that does not destroy and recreate entirely those civs.
If you want to have "Necromancers Everywhere" with those kind of mods, please load it at last position in the mod menu when creating world.

On the dwarf fortress forums, modding section,on Bay 12, I made a post regarding necromancers and how to increase necromancer production easily 100 fold, the post is called "a gold bound codex on the cover is an image of a dwarfs brain exploding" there's a fair bit of nonsense in there but solid info also..👍

Thank you for the comment. Don't hesitate to make report if you want some evolution or have some question.
I am currently working on an other mod which imply a lot of DFHACK script to allow to watch the necromancer expansion during worldgen (because necromancers conquer village, town etc, but it is not very clear on the game map).
