Brick residential buildings of the Shch-5416 series consist of 12 floors and were built in the 60s and 70s of the last century. The Shch-5416 series has only an 84-apartment version. The construction of houses was carried out at the expense of housing and construction cooperatives, which were located in different areas of the city and in the suburbs, which later became part of St. Petersburg. This happened, for example, on Malaya Okhta and on the Black River.
There are quite a lot of houses in the area of Courage Square. The structural scheme of the structures in this series is a building with longitudinal and transverse brick load-bearing walls, which contain ceilings made of hollow flooring. Today, plastic window designs are more common in houses of the Shch-5416 series, but initially, during construction, the windows were wooden.
The configurations of the houses in this series contain 17 different versions. They mostly differ from each other in the location of apartments, balconies and loggias. The front doors contain an elevator shaft, there are 7 apartments on each floor of an apartment building. Due to its compactness and due to the small number of front doors near the houses of the Shch-5416 series, parking lots for cars and playgrounds are conveniently located - there is enough space for everyone.

Residential buildings resemble candle houses in appearance and are located at a sufficient distance from each other and an example of a house of the shch-5416 series from other houses, therefore, there is enough natural sunlight and daylight in the apartments. Each apartment of the Shch-5416 series has a balcony or loggia. The architects of the brick residential buildings of the series were V. F. Belov and P. V. Kurochkin. At that time, they made a breakthrough in the field of housing construction, as their project turned out to be more modern and in great demand. The concept of a modern metropolis began to take shape not from "Khrushchev" and dormitories, but from such residential buildings as the houses of the Shch-5416 series.
