Description
The country of Panama, from coast to coast.

Land relief is accurate, underwater relief was redrawn for gameplay purposes. The Panama Canal itself has few crossings to make it a defensible position, and some hilly terrain tends to create holdouts as armies advance slower through it.

Created based on public domain (CC0) images from USGS (GTOPO30).

I also made a map exclusively of the Pearl Islands archipelago off the southern coast of Panama, included in this map. You can "zoom in" as a companion campaign, on my collection above or on the link here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3170779455

Updated 1 day after release with some feedback, more consistent look to mountains and some other minor improvements.

@Aquitos I followed a guide posted on the Community page by the developer, you can use external programs to create your images! As long as everything is the right colour, the game will recognise files you put in the right folder. I used Krita to make this one. However it's not as simple as editing a premade picture, some areas like the mountains had to be recreated from scratch by hand painting. However like i said, i used Krita, which makes it easier by letting me make my own custom brushes. I'll look into making a video tutorial for mapmaking if it's interesting to people, I'm happy with how well it's been received! Feel free to send me a message if you have any specific requests.

How TF do people make maps like these? Is there some kind of special program people use to do this or are they just that good at drawing coastlines? I've been trying to see how I can copy this one map I made onto a bigger template for a world map but I can't make map sizes bigger apparently.
