Zangief

The Red Cyclone, Zangief has arrived into Smack Studio! As the quintessential grappler, his game plan centers around getting in and grabbing the opponent to deal massive damage. He may have a high defense stat, but his big body makes him combo food for pretty much everyone, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have ways to deal with them. His FStrong and DStrong have Super Armour, while Banishing Flat and grounded Double Lariat have invulnerability just before the active attack frames, not to mention Tundra Storm is a devastating counter. You may either play carefully or aggressively, and Zangief will still find a way to instill fear on his opponents.

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: SCREW PILEDRIVER
Throw an opponent, leap into the air, and smash them into the ground with a spinning slam. Very high damage and great kill power, but be careful if you do miss it, since it leaves you quite open.

SIDE SPECIAL: BANISHING FLAT
Zangief steps forward, becoming invulnerable just before doing an energetic attack. It hits multiple times and, on hit, can be both jump cancelled and cancelled into any attack.

UP SPECIAL: DOUBLE LARIAT
When used in the ground, the first active frames are completely invulnerable, and there's absolutely no vertical momentum. When used in the air, the attack loses all invulnerability, but gains further vertical velocity to aid in recovery.

DOWN SPECIAL: TUNDRA STORM
Frame 5 counter special that grabs the opponent and throws it downwards.

ULTRA: STORM BUSTER
Perform a far more poweful version of Screw Piledriver!
