[XM] Star Trek (TNG Films) - USS Enterprise 1701-E

This was an essential build for the Planco Star Trek Final Frontiers Park (#PlanetCoasterStarTrekFinalFrontiers on X) that I am building coming to Planet Coaster this summer.

U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-E

The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) was a 24th century Federation Sovereign-class starship operated by Starfleet. The sixth Federation starship to bear the prestigious name, from 2373 to 2385 with Captain Jean-Luc Picard being assigned as the Captain. Under his command, the Enterprise made its first 3-film appearance in 'First Contact' and was a participant in defeating the Borg in 2373, disrupting the plans of the Son'a in 2375 (Insurrection), and destroying Praetor Shinzon and his dreaded Reman warbird, Scimitar (Nemesis).

The Build

Keeping in size with the other ship builds in the series, the Enterprise E is a bigger ship than the original TOS and Film 1701-A as it should be. I used the Playmates E model to capture the dimensions and shape to build this BP. This is a one-piece 4K, high-detail BP ship that can be moved in any direction . The main body coloring uses a cool grey (#E5E5E5) with a two-toned color combo of light blue grey and and a dark grey with black tones here and there.

I tried to capture the shape of the saucer and main hull as best I could while keeping the design of the ship within planco limits that the game allows. While it is not a perfect replication, it is a very close build of the film ship design with some compromises here and there to make the high detail stand out. It features detailed lighting and lifeboats, custom built nacelles to match the film version, detailed saucer bridge top, rear-facing plasma exhaust discharge cells, a detailed, lighted deflector dish, lighted shuttle bay, and blinking/ flashing small beacon lights located on the saucer and rear nacelles.
