Sliding Doors on Pivots

Description
  • A set of doors of different width that uses two pivots to imitate the sliding mechanism. Compared to doors on two sliders, they are more compact and don't require constant electric supply or door locks.
  • Requires two spaced pivots with merged heads. One pivot should be in the leftmost block of the door, and the second pivot should be placed on floor with some offset.

  • The second pivot can be placed in any position where the opened door will not collide with the door frame. The red blocks on the floor mark optimal pivot positions, but you can place it in other positions depending on your vehicle interior configuration.

  • There always will be a small gap between the opened door and the wall, but you can make it smaller by picking different pivot positions.
  • Press F2 to track possible physics collisions. Two blocks wide doors tends to jam, since the door pivot head is too close to the wall. If there is a collision, you can replace the cube blocks with wedges that have smaller hitbox, or remove them completely and cover the gaps with stretched XML blocks.
  • The controller is the same for all doors, with different properties for door width and pivots offset distances.
  • If you need double doors, you can copy and mirror the door with its pivots, and link that pivots to the same controller.
  • To make the smoothly looking door, you can use the power of XML, make the pivot head invisible and hide the pivot base inside the stretched cube block.

Make sure you merged the pivot heads between each other, merged the door pivot base to the door itself, and the wall pivot base to you vehicle.
