The Lost Sons of Bretonnia

Description
"Sons of Bretonnia! We ride for unity! We ride for the living!"

Description
Children in Bretonnia who display exceptional magical talent at a young age are often visited by the Fay Enchantress, who spirits them away to parts unknown, never to be seen by their parents again. Those daughters who are taken return as the beautiful and wise Damsels and Prophetesses, who guide the ruling nobility of Bretonnia in matters both magical and spiritual. The sons who are taken, however, are rarely seen again... in secret, they are taken to the Court of the Lady of the Lake, where they are reshaped as magical guardians. Clad in an ancient, silver armor reminiscent of Bretonnia's past and astride mystical water-horses from the Lady's Realm, they ride out at fair Bretonnia's darkest hour, wielding tridents and gleaming with magical energy. They are the Lost Sons of Bretonnia, and they shall bring the Lady's enemies to heel!

The Lost Sons are an elite unit, recruited from the Tier 5 Grail building in Bretonnia and requiring the Grail Vow to unlock. They're low-number, magic-wielding knights who act in a support role. While squishier than Grail Knights and Grail Guardians, they can cast Tidecall and Harmonic Convergence as bound spells, and they're a little faster than their Grail Knight counterparts. Just about any skill that buffs Grail Knights should buff them too, although on the red line, they share the same skill as Pegasus Knights and Hippogryph Knights.

They are a canon unit, mentioned to have aided in Louen Leoncoeur's ascension to Grail Knight. Exceptional detail to the lore was followed in the creation of this unit. They've never received an official visual depiction, so I tried to make them visually in-line with the Fay Enchantress, and based the "water-horses" off of kelpies and hippocampi.

Compatibility
There should be no compatibility issues unless they drastically affect battle performance or how Bretonnia's campaign mechanics operate. It is certified to be compatible with Lily's Bretonnia Overhaul, a mod that I can highly recommend.

If you want compatibility submods for total overhauls like SFO Grimhammer or Radious, I'm afraid I can't help you because I don't use those overhauls. Feel free to make them yourself though!

Credits
I'd like to thank Lily, whose longstanding series of Bretonnia Overhaul mods inspired me to also work on the faction, and who generous donated the shields used by the Lost Sons as well as some UI assets. I'd also like to thank Ole, whose Asset Editor tool made this mod possible, and the good people of the Skeleton Crew discord, who helped me through some technical issues. All screenshots were taken with Mazisky's Ultimate Lighting 2.0 mod.

Also, if you like this mod and want more stuff for Bretonnia, I recommend you check out my Sergeant-at-Arms hero, which I co-created with Lily, and my War Castle.

Does this need an update after 6.1.2?

@Ben: Interesting idea. I probably won't make another new hero for Bretonnia soon but thanks for the suggestion, it's nice to have ideas for future material.

Suggestion.
Rename the Lost Sons into simply Sons of Bretonnia, while the Lost Son could be used as a name for a generic hero who would be a tanky, magic-oriented Paladin.
But this is your mod and I just suggest stuff.

Hey mate i think i have a visual description. It's from the short story The Court Beneath (tells of Louen receiving the grail): "Behind Louen came a host of proud young knights, each one a stolen son of Bretonnia grown to powerful maturity. Pale of skin and regal in stature, they wielded a variety of strange weapons, from longspears to tridents to flails that ended in silvered hooks. Light glimmered from their skin, as it did from their steeds."
