Description
The Lightbringer was developed in response to the symelite infestation of the Andromeda galaxy, known as the "Dark Faction". In the weeks following the initial outbreak, the mech has proven to be an effective weapon against this interstellar plague.

The primary feature of the Lightbringer is its hyperperforming power generation and propulsion systems. The symelite "dark field" produced by the pillars it erects on infested planets can reduce the output of these and other systems by as much as 80%. The simplest solution, therefore, is to simply overpower the effect with five times as much output. This isn't without cost, as the need to maintain such a high thrust-to-mass ratio precludes heavy armor or extensive fuel and ammunition stores. Pilots must be careful not to overextend themselves.

As standard machine guns have proved ineffective against symelite organisms, the main armament of the Lightbringer is a set of arm-mounted lasers. Railguns and constrained plasma batteries are located above both shoulders to provide extra punch against larger creatures and structures. These plasma weapons are set to attack any target directly in front of the mech, and can be toggle on and off using the ctrl+alt+1 key input. An LCD display over the pilot's view shows their activation status.

In addition to these weapons, the Lightbringer mounts a standard artillery turret on its back. While not useful in normal combat, pilots have been able to lay their mech face down and damage or even destroy dark pillars from outside the range of their defenses with this weapon. Few artillery shells are usually carried, but every mission is different. Pilots should prepare according to their own battle plans.

Finally, the Lightbringer sports a single chest-mounted laser drill. The purpose of this drill is combat excavation of dark pillar cores following the destruction of the pillar itself. Usually, pillars leave behind a few blocks and turrets which can be salvaged for symelite samples. These can only be harvest after the core is destroyed, and the core only be destroyed after a layer of soil is removed. With this drill, pilots can dash over to the core, dig away the soil covering it, then destroy it with weapons fire. The dark pillar's turrets can then be harvested. Pull the weed out by the roots. Leave nothing behind.

Speaking of symelite harvesting, creatures and eggs remain the main source of this material in Andromeda. As such, the Lightbringer cockpit's double shutter hatch allows both easy drone access to dispatched enemies and easy boarding from the ground when laid on its back. Simply hold the autolevel key to bring the mech upright again.

It should be noted that, while developed to combat the Dark Faction, this mech HV was developed using only standard UCH technology. It requires no symelite material or technology to construct.
