Japanese Government Railways Hoiro5150(5150~5167)

Hoiro5150(5150~5167) is a first- and second-class combined bogie passenger car made at the British factory (probably the Metropolitan Railway Carriage & Wagon Company's factory) and the Kobe factory. It was one of the bogie coaches introduced when the Tokaido Line was fully opened to traffic in 1889, and is shown as [Type AD] in the passenger car type drawing written by F.H. Trevithick in 1893. Later, passenger cars manufactured at the Kobe Works were added to the lineup, and by around 1900, the Type AD passenger cars were numbered from Nibo1 to Nibo18. Then, after the nationalization of private railways such as Nippon Railway and Sanyo Railway, they became Hoiro5150 to Hoiro5167 of Type 5150. Later, from the end of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Taisho era, they were remodeled and divided into two types, 5150 and 5160, and in the late Taisho era, they were downgraded to 2nd class carriage and the type was changed. Finally, some of them were converted to postal baggage carriages, and some of them remained until after the WWII. Until the remodeling in the Taisho era, there was a diagonal partition between the first and second class toilets in the center of the carriages, and it was not possible to move directly from the first class car to the second class car.

These 7 types of coaches will be added as variations of Hoiro5150 (5150~5159) or Hoiro5150 (5160~5159), respectively, as shown below. Nibo 8 and Nibo 13 are not type names but numbers of cars to be added in the mod.

○There are many unknowns about Japanese vehicles of Meiji era. So, I have made my own guesses about the dimensions, colors, and other unknowns. Therefore, the dimensions and shape may differ from the actual car, and some parts may not be reproduced. The maximum speed of the vehicles in this mod is the mod creator's guess. Also, the side shapes of the carriages were created as the two types of sides that I assumed to be the sides of the hoiro5150~5159 and hoiro5160~5167, respectively, but the relationship to the actual carriage number is not known.
○I am planning to add more modified forms of Hoiro5150 from the Taisho era (Hoiro5160, Horo5200, Horo5230, etc.) to this mod in the future. However, the production date is undecided.
