DISCLAIMER
Even though this guide will tell you when you'll get the achievements, the reality is that you practically don't need it.
Most of the achievements come from playing the story.
Still, if you need help with a particular one, use Ctrl+F and look it up.

Also, you don't need the DLC for any of the achievements.
So, with that out of the way...
The Tutorial
  • Oh, I Get It! - Use the Drift Stick.

  • Look Who's Finally Ready To Play - Complete the tutorial.
Edward's Story
The "lowest difficulty" in the game comes from playing as Edward, so we'll start this guide with him.
This part is pretty straightforward because most achievements can be unlocked by playing any other character, but to prepare ourselves for the difficulty of the upcoming achievements, you only need to play the game as him to get these achievements.
This part won't have any secret knowledge, every achievement is unlocked by playing the story.

  • Scanning For Weaknesses... - Compete in a ghost battle: Complete the Ghost Battle event in Lakeside Loop.

  • You Only Get One Shot - Compete in a time trial: Complete the Time Attack event in Lakeside Loop.

  • Start Your Engines! - Compete in a race: Finish the race in Lakeside Loop.

  • I Have You Now - Beat the set time in any Ghost Battle. It's easier in Lakeside Loop.

  • Checkered Flag - Win a race. Easier in Lakeside Loop.

  • Take Care Of This Loser - Compete in a duel: Available since City Skylink.

  • Every Second Counts - Earn gold in a time Attack. Easier in Lakeside Loop.

  • Razor Sharp - Unlock the Katana: Available after beating Corey.

  • Cool Vibrations - Win a duel.

  • Turn Right To Go Left - Compete in a style event.

  • The Perfect Lap - Earn a platinum medal: I got mine at the first Style event available.

  • Ice Cold Refreshment - Unlock the Boba: Available after beating Esmee.

  • Sliding With Style - Earn gold in a style event.

  • Go Ballistic! - Unlock the Bullet: Available after racing against Talsin.

  • Why So Serious? - Unlock the Jester: Available after racing against Samira

  • Do You Like My Car? - Unlock the Supreno: Available after racing against Seth

  • You've Got Potential - Complete Edward's story.

Ada's Story
  • Is It A Bird? Is It A Plane? - Unlock the Jet Z 880: Available after racing against Jay in City Skylink

  • All The Force Of A Great Typhoon - Unlock the Ventus: Available after racing against Riku in City Skylink

  • Stay Between The Lines - Compete in an endurance test: Available at Sunset Sea Circuit

  • Almost There... - Hit a checkpoint with less than 1 second left: The easiest way to get this one, as Jonny pointed out, is to wait before a checkpoint and, when the timer goes past 1s, you pass it.
I personally played it normally and got it at the last checkpoint of the endurance test, the one after the "finish line".
If you still don't get it here, don't worry. You can get it later in the Arcade Mode.

  • Unflappable - Earn gold in an endurance event: Don't worry too much about it, drive the same as you were doing before and it should be fine.

  • So Much Still To Learn - Complete Ada's Story.
Ibba's Story
  • Multidimensional - Unlock the 7D: Available after racing against Gunner in Lakeside Loop.

  • Where We're Going, We Don't Need Roads - Unlock the Gecko RX: Available after the duel against Lucas.

  • No Room For Doubt - Complete Ibba's Story.
Viv's Story
This is the hardest of the four stories and not as flexible because you need to get a gold medal on certain events to progress. So if you feel stuck at any point, feel free to skip this section for now.
Arcade Mode
  • I've Just Been In This Place Before - Complete an event on a reverse track layout: Go to Arcade and select any track you like. REMEMBER TO SELECT "[Track], R".
Lakeside Loop Practice is the shortest and you can finish the event after one lap.

  • It's A New Record - Set a leaderboard time in Arcade Time Attack: Select any track you like and go into a Time Attack event. If you beat the gold time before finishing all the laps, you can select Finish Event in the options.

  • Trendsetter - Set a leaderboard score in an Arcade Style event: Select any track you like and go into a Style event. Beat the gold rating to get the achievement.

  • All Night Crossing The Line - Complete 10 laps in practice mode in one session: Select any track you like and get those 10 laps (If you haven't beaten Viv's 47 seconds, I encourage you to practice right now).

  • Well Travelled - Complete an event on every track:
You only need to play two tracks for each map. For example:
The Lakeside map has 4 "tracks":
    • Lakeside Loop
    • Lakeside Loop, R
    • Downhill Rapids
    • Downhill Rapids, R
In reality you only need to play "Lakeside Loop" and "Downhill Rapids" to complete that map, so to speak. You don't need to play the ",R" variants.
To get the achievement faster, play Time Trials and finish the event when you complete one lap, no matter the result.
The Leftovers
  • Perfectionist - Achieve 100% on a story mode playthrough: Choose the save in which you have the most percentage (Ada in my case). Get all the gold medals for the achievement to unlock.

  • Did You Order Original Recipe Or Extra Crispy? - Complete a story playthrough on "Xtra Crispy": Pretty self explanatory. Select your favorite character (Except Viv), then Xtra Crispy and finish the game with it.

  • Complete Mastery - Complete grand prix mode with every car: To have all cars available you need to complete their challenges (Thanks Azure for pointing that out).

If you're worried about the DLC cars, Jonny pointed out that "you can complete it by driving the DLC cars' GPs as well since the achievement only checks for 16 GPs completed in total, so theoretically you could leave 4 of the base game cars out and still get the achievement"

If you need help with how a car handles, I recommend you check out Grooves' or TrueWOPR's guides:

Thanks, Jonny! This is super helpful.

N0t-UR-W41-FU, you need to complete the other story modes first.

小果叮, you need to win every event in a Grand Prix in order to complete it, so yes you need to win every event in 16 Grands Prix to get the achievement.

Is the requirement for getting the "Complete Mastery" achievement to win 16 Grand Prix races, or is it enough to simply complete them even if I don't win all the races?

viv´s story is grey for me how do i unlock it?
Jonny 19 Jul, 2024 @ 12:14pm
Not needed, the GPs included are just alternate ways of getting the Complete Mastery achievement.

Thank you for the guide ILy!
So if understand from the Jonny post, DLC isn't needed for 100% right?

Thank you so much for your comments. I've already updated the guide with them

Few bits of extra info for some of the achievements. You can cheese Almost There by going into an endurance event and sitting in front of a checkpoint until the timer ticks down. Once it hits 00:00 just drive into the checkpoint, you'll still have a second to react since the decimal points aren't shown on that timer.

Perfectionist does only requires gold medals on all events in a story. Though there are platinum medals for Time Attack and Style events, these are unnecessary for the achievement.

It's worth noting that Viv's story doesn't have an XC mode so you can't get that achievement from her.

As for Complete Mastery, you can complete it by driving the DLC cars' GPs as well since the achievement only checks for 16 GPs completed in total, so theoretically you could leave 4 of the base game cars out and still get the achievement. Or pick and choose, whichever.

Just remember to add that you need to complete the challenges for the cars so that you can unlock and then use them in GP mode

I think it doesn't because Well Travelled also says something similar but with tracks, and I got that one without the DLC
