Renault Austral

オーストラル（AUSTRAL）は、フランスの自動車メーカーのルノーが販売する中型クロスオーバーSUVである。

車名はラテン語の「Australis」に由来し、南半球の活気と熱を想起させるネーミングとしている。

オーストラルはルノーの新しいCI（ロザンジュ）が装着された最初のモデル。
サイズは欧州Cセグメント級のクロスオーバーSUVで、かつて販売されていたカジャーの後継にあたるモデルとなり、
ルノーのラインナップではキャプチャーとコレオス（2023年よりエスパス）の中間に位置する車種となる。

グループPSA（現・ステランティス）より移籍したジル・ヴィダルが主体となってデザインされたエクステリアは新世代のデザイン言語「アスレチックデザイン」に則ったものであり、
ボディにはメガーヌEテック・エレクトリックで初採用された「マイクロオプティック・プレキシガラス技術」が使われている。

パワートレインにはF1で培われた技術を参考に設計したドグクラッチ式トランスミッションと1.2L直3ターボ（HR12）を組み合わせたハイブリッドシステム「E-TECH」を柱に、
1.2L直3ターボ・マイルドハイブリッドや1.3L直4ターボマイルドハイブリッドの3種を採用することで、走行性能と燃費を両立させている。

プラットフォームは最新版である「CMF-C/D 3」。駆動方式はFFと4WDの2種。尚、このプラットフォームは3代目日産キャシュカイ(デュアリス(DUALIS))と共通である。

サスペンションは前輪はストラット、後輪はトーションビームが基本だが、
4WDの上級グレードにおいては四輪操舵システム「4Control Advanced」とセットでマルチリンクを選択することも可能である。

アルピーヌにインスパイアされた「エスプリ アルピーヌ（ESPRIT ALPINE）」もルノーブランドで初めて設定される。

生産はスペインのパレンシア工場にて行われる。

尚、6代目エスパスはオーストラルをベースにロングホイールベース化したものである。

AUSTRAL is a mid-sized crossover SUV sold by French automaker Renault.

The car's name is derived from the Latin word "Australis" and evokes the vibrancy and heat of the southern hemisphere.

The Austral is the first model to be fitted with Renault's new CI (Losanges).
It is a European C-segment crossover SUV, and is a successor model to the Kajar that was previously sold.
In Renault's lineup, it is a car model that is positioned between the Capture and Koleos (Espace from 2023).

The exterior was mainly designed by Gilles Vidal, who transferred from Groupe PSA (currently Stellantis), and is based on the new generation design language ``Athletic Design.''
The body uses Micro-Optic Plexiglas technology, which was first used in the Megane E-Tech Electric.

The powertrain is based on the hybrid system "E-TECH", which combines a dog clutch type transmission designed with reference to technology cultivated in F1 and a 1.2L straight 3 turbo (HR12).
By adopting three types, a 1.2L straight-3 turbo mild hybrid and a 1.3L straight-4 turbo mild hybrid, it achieves both driving performance and fuel efficiency.

The platform is the latest version "CMF-C/D 3". There are two drive systems: FF and 4WD. This platform is shared with the third generation Nissan Qashqai (DUALIS).

The suspension is basically a strut for the front wheels and a torsion beam for the rear wheels.
For advanced 4WD grades, it is also possible to select multi-link as a set with the four-wheel steering system "4Control Advanced."

ESPRIT ALPINE, inspired by the Alpine, will also be available for the first time under the Renault brand.

Production will take place at the Palencia factory in Spain.

The 6th generation Espace is a long wheelbase model based on the Austral.
