The salary cap in Spain has been altered to amount to 2,8 million euro per week for each team in an attempt to make a more fair Spanish league.

The prize money has also been altered to have the lower table teams get a lot more than the top teams so as to balance out the league and create more competition.

In my tests, it seems as though the traditional top 3 is far far stronger than the rest of the league so it still ends up being a three horse race between Atletico, Real and Barcelona for a long time. I'm guessing it's because of their massive reputation relative to the rest of the league. In addition, Barcelona ends up being the most dominant team, most likely because of the high potential and high loyalty their players have, so players like Pedri, Gavi, Lamine Yamal all stick around no matter how much a pay cut they take.
