MIM 98 AMRADS

Description
MIM 98 AMRADS

Description
The MIM 98 is a medium range SAM (surface to air missile) system.
it can reliably intercept fighter sized targets at 10KM range and has a theoretical max range of 15KM.

The MIM 98 Is inteded to be Operable by a single person.

It is inspired By Systems like The Soviet 9K33 (NATO: SA-8). its main purpose is point defence.
for maximum protection I recommend also placing a CIWS nearby to intercept missiles or other small targets,
as the MIM 98 can not reliably intercept these.

Technical Overview

The missiles use GPS Guidence with Coordinates suplied via radar and radio (to simulate SARH)
to guide themselves untill they detect a target with the onboard radar (1250M range),
at which point they will nolonger respond to ground commands and kill the first target it sees target.

The Search radar displays targets on a map of the world, centered on the Vehicle. The map can be set to 5 range modes, 25km 20km 15km 10km and 5km
in the 25 and 20km modes, the yellow rings are at 5km intervals, then for 15 and 10 km, they are joined by darker yellow rings with 2.5km spacing.
in 5km mode, there are also dark rings, but in this mode they are at 1km intervals.

The track radar has two modes, Normal and Pulse Track.
The latter does NOT allow for missile Guidence, but does not cause a missile Launch Warning for most RWRs in this game.
The former does allow for missile guidence, but as it constantly hits the target with radar it will likely cause the target to get a launch warning
if it has RWR, and will trigger auto chaff systems.

Operations Manual

Transport
The MIM 98 uses a tank chassie, and therefore drives like a tank. to drive it, simply enable the engine, ensure parking break is off and drive away.

Set up
  1. Park Vehicle on Flat ground
  2. Enable parking break
  3. Move to misslieer compartment
  4. Enable RWR system, search radar, tracking radar, monitors, guidence antena and turn on lights.

Take down
  1. Disable All systems except Chaff system
  2. Move Track Radar into a forward faceing and horizontal position (indications on map/track screen)
  3. Turn of lights
  4. Disable parking break, if off enable Engine, move vehicle to new location

Search Radar Use
The search Radar, when active, finds radar contacts within a 25KM range. These are displayed on the map screen. (colored magenta)
the number next to a target is its aproximate altitude in hundreds of meters. This measurement is very unreliable and can be off by multiple hundred meters.

Track radar / Target acquisition
  1. Rotate Track Radar to align with search radar target
  2. Move Track Radar Up and down untill the target light iluminates/data screen shows "TGT: TRUE"
  3. Press Trigger to lock target
  4. If if deemed nececary, enable pulse track

Target engagement
  1. Find and acquire target with Tracking Radar
  2. If enabled, disable pulse track mode
  3. Launch weapon when waunch authority is obtained, or if missileer deems PK to be sufficient by launch authority overwrite.
  4. Attempt to confirm kill by visual means (Camera on Track screen) or through radar data
  5. If target is not disabled, Repeat 1-3
[Note] Launch Authoraty does not mean the missile will be able to connect, mearly that the basic launch paramaters are met (stabil Radar Lock, target between 700 and 15000m). it is up to the operator to decide when to launch.

Reloading

  1. Attach Mag All to missile tip
  2. Lift missile in position above launcher
  3. Align connector rotation on missile and launcher
  4. Lower missile into Launcher

I support Learning and Reverse Engineering, so feel free to do so.

If you have any questions, send a DM Request to tntorge on discord as i dont regularly check these comments

Do NOT reupload the Creation as a whole

Should you use any of the parts of this system for you own
creation, please credit me or this workshop page

Thank you

P.S. AMRADS Stands for Advanced Medium Range Air Defence System

Also please tell me if i should make a video tutorial for this creation. i want to know if people want one before spending the time to make it

that is the max zoom that the game allows, i wish it could do more, this is only good for visual IDing to maybe 4-5km

Anyway to zoom in the camera?
