Soldier: 76 Voicepack

Description
--->THIS MOD REQUIRES ALTERNATIVE MOD LAUNCHER FOR WOTC USERS<---[github.com]

tl;dr
This mod adds my own version of Soldier: 76s voice from Overwatch.

Overview
  • 712 lines
  • Adjustable volume via a config file
  • Cooked
  • Support for events added in voice patcher, get the mod >here<.
  • Works with both base-game and WotC, Voice Patcher only supports WotC
  • Lines taken from both Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2
  • No direct references to Overwatch universe material
  • Radio effect applied
  • Not affected by attitudes
  • Support for normal soldiers and Reapers by default. Skirmishers and Templars must be enabled in the config.
  • Never appears at random
  • Special variants listed below

Variants:
'English Soldier: 76 Normal'
All dialogue is used at some point, even the joke lines from some costumes and April Fools.

'English Soldier: 76 IMS'
Every time an offensive ability that involves firing a gun is used (Rupture, Deadeye, Rapid Fire, etc.), he will say his signature line "I've got you in my sights". In the normal variant, this line only has chance to play in a pool of 'Ultimate' lines that itself only has a 33% chance to be picked from.

'English Soldier: 76 APF'
Essentially makes the joke lines play as frequently as possible.
1. When killing multiple enemies at once, he will always say "War IS a game, and I'm using cheats!".
2. When activating Run and Gun, Serial, Reaper, or Limit Break, he will always say "Who took my dentures?!".
3. Any time he uses an offensive ability, he says "Turn that damn music down!".

Description
Before I go any further, I am aware that there already exists voices for Soldier: 76 both in >this mod by Aelanna< and >this mod by QueenGambit<.

I've had this mod on my backlog for quite a while. It was in a complete state like 2 years ago, but it only used Overwatch 1 voices. Originally, this mod was a rehash of Aelanna's Soldier: 76 voice mod, which only had about 200 lines total and 6 lines for 'TargetKilled'. You also didn't get that "I've got you in my sights!" line triggered as much as I would have liked it to. I quite liked 76's voice, so I decided to make one of my own with the goal of more line diversity. I actually finished it and thought about releasing it to the public, but then the Overwatch Voice Collection came out, as did Overwatch 2, and felt I shouldn't. Fast forward to now, I've finally finished the mod and feel I've put enough of a personal spin on it to justify putting it on the workshop.

Pretty much only made this mod because I like Soldier: 76's voice. I never played that much Overwatch even when people actually liked Blizzard. Because of this, you could say I might not have been the most qualified person to have made this mod, but I tried my best. I will very likely NOT be doing any other Overwatch voices, plenty of other mods already exist for it anyway.

Q&A?
Why do you often make mods of things that others have already done before?
I tend to struggle with original thinking. No only that, but if I feel passionate enough about something and feel it could be done better, I feel a strong urge to put me on touch on it. That said, you will never hear me say that something I post is objectively better than someone elses work. While this particular mod was originally a rehash of Aelanna's 76 voice mod, it's since become completely different to the point that I'd say it's unrecognizable.

Will you update the mod with more lines as more are added to Overwatch 2?
Maybe. Since I don't actually play Overwatch anymore, it may be as spontaneous as me being bored one day and looking at the Overwatch 2 interactions.

Will you create a variant that does X?
Maybe. No promises. No harm in asking though. Nice thing about variants is that take little effort and don't bloat the mod size at all.

You should be ashamed for making this. I demand that you take it down immediately.
No. Not because I don't respect the creators of the other mods, but because:
1. Blizzard holds the rights to Overwatch and its characters. Not me, or anyone else.
2. I spend a ridiculous amount of hours on this and dang it, I want it to be immortalized so the work can mean something.

Robojumper for their voice script.

@Metablueba
It's almost all Overwatch music, and it's not a mod. I added it in post.
XCOM 2 - Death Approaches
Overwatch 2 - Round Overtime (Alternate Version)
Overwatch - Prepare to Attack
Overwatch 2 - We Press On
Overwatch - Time is Running Out!

What's the music being played additionally, is it a mod?

@QueenGambit Thanks. High praise from the person that made the Overwatch Collection. Wasn't sure if anyone would care about this mod, but I've had it on my to do list for so long that I just decided to make myself finish it.

Best soldier voice mod imo! I also like that you even created different varients... as it should be.
