Revert to pre-deployment stage (e1.6.5)
By SYSTEM GLITCH
Are you like me, and you miss the chaotic start and larger battles of pre-deployment stage Mount & Blade Bannerlord that came with patch e1.7.0? Yeah, this is what you are looking for. This will get you e1.6.5 which was the last patch that just dumped you into battle, with no messing around.

I loved these battles, and found them more engaging. The armies start further away and the battlefield is larger. You can do more maneuvering, outflank the enemy with more freedom, and all-round these were just more fun battles. So here you go, I got you covered!

Quick Guide Summary:
steam://nav/console (in broswer, and open link)

download_depot 261550 261551 1646695733396041230 (in console that opened in Steam)

Copy downloaded content into an empty "Mount & Blade II Bannerlord" folder and launch as normal through Steam.

Recommendation: Download a beta version of the game first, so it will not update and force you to replace files in the future)
More in depth explination:
In your browser, enter in:

steam://nav/console

It will ask you if you want to open the link with steam. Click open link and it will open the Console in Steam.

Here you want to enter:

download_depot 261550 261551 1646695733396041230

It will tell you it is downloading, without telling you anything else, no progress, etc. After a while, in this games case, quite a while, depending on your connection, it will complete. It took about 4 - 6 hours for me.

Once done it will tell you the location it is saved to.

And if you don't want to have to deal with all this again because an update overwrote the files, make sure you first download a beta version of the game, delete the contents, and put the downloaded depo contents above inside the folder. It'll save a future headache.

(if you really don't care about space, and want to be super advanced, you can keep an updated version of retail, an old beta version and e1.6.5, and switch between them all to not have to download all the content again. If this doesn't make sense, don't worry about it, it's for advanced users only, and I'm not taking the time to explain the nuance)

And because I am not motivaeted at the moment and just throwing this up for now without pictures, refer to this old guide I made for FTL if you want to see some pictures:

Once again, I apologize for how sloppy this is, I just want it out there to help whoever finds this information useful. Perhaps I'll clean it up and provide some pictures in the future.
