Description
SV Class 1, Core 1, Unlock Level 10 - Reforged Eden 2 Only

Primary roles: Starter SV Miner, Light combat, Utility, Storage, Upgradable

The Scarab-SCM (Starter Combat Miner) is a Reforged Eden 2 experimental miner. Designed to be compact and inexpensive with an unusual 3 drill mining set up. It also comes with twin gatling guns and upgrade options to add a turret, shield, and trauma station.

Stock Features

The Scarab-SCM comes stock with 6000 harvest storage, 500 ammo storage, 2 gattling guns, 3 mechanical drills, o2 and dispenser, armor locker, fridge, spotlight, WiFi, detector, storage box, and upgrade options.

Offense and defense

The hull is built with a combination of steel, cargo extensions, with some carbon substrate trim. The interior is made with the same. It comes with 2x gatling guns and 500 ammo storage (enough for 5000 12.7 rounds for the gatling guns)

Upgrade options

The SCM has an upgrade option to add 2 basic CPU cores, 1 additional 1x2 generator, shield, pentaxid tank, and 1 turret. Also, if you are willing to go slightly over CPU, you can also place a trauma station infront of the shield once the shield is placed. For placing parts, B=Basic CPU core, G=Generator, and P=Pentaxid Tank. A turret can be placed on top.

Features Summary:

1. SV Class 1, Core 1 RE2 , Unlock 10 - Reforged Eden 2 only
2. Steel, container extension, and some carbon trim hull
3. 6000 Harvest storage, 500 ammo storage
4. 2 gatling guns, fridge, armor locker, WiFi, detector
5. O2 and dispenser, storage box
6. Spot light (P menu control)
7. Locations to add 2 basic CPU cores, shield, pentaxid tank, turret, and also place a trauma station in front of the shield once the shield is placed however it will be slightly over CPU doing so.

I hope you enjoy!

Notes: If you have a completely full load, it is advised to fly gently or you could slightly go over 100% power usage. If the Scarab was upgraded with additional generator/part package, this is no longer an issue.

It is advised to try and land on level ground as the interior is so tight, tilted to the right or left can cause issues getting out of the pilot seat.

One last thing, the design was very much built for 1st person use with good pilot visibility with an interior cockpit.

Nice little ship but it can be hard to get in/out of the cockpit so i had to remove the oxygen tank and the cargo behind the cockpit. I still found it hard on occasion so I replaced the cockpit so I can get in from the front too

Best miner I have ever used in this game no cap, it's compact, has a ton of storage, fast and agile, can do a 360 inside the mining hole 10/10

Quick addendum... you don't need an advanced constructor. My bad.

Just a quick note. It says it comes standard with the three drills. It does not. It comes without any drills, and drills require an advanced constructor to make. Just fyi, if you bring this in as a starter, you will have a good little transport ship, but no mining capability until you can make a base with an advanced constructor, or find one in a public or NPC base you can use.

Thank you okaio and willderyes! @okaio, I agree with your findings too. And thanks again all!

Thanks a lot jrandall. I appreciate the though you put into your designs and especially the commentary you provide. I hate when someone just plops down something and doesn't give any explanation. You, on the other hand always tell us what you expect your vehicle to do and provide how we can modify it. That is FANTASTIC!

Tested it in a RE2 survival and it is a great starter SV! As always jrandal!

Minor remarks:
It just snug fits into the holes it digs, be aware of your steering inputs under ground or use it as a dip miner.

When landng make sure you land on flat ground or the O2 station and cargo box make it hard to leave the cockpit when the ship is tilted. I moved the O2 and Box to the designated shield slot temporarily to make getting out easier.
