Description

A quick patch that adds Crumbling Mind to the list of Hediffs cured by Ghoulification.



Doesn't it bother anybody else, that a Ghoul still suffers from dreadful memories(and -40% to its conciousness) after losing its humanity and all higher cognitive functions?

Well, I was, so I made a small patch that will decrumb that crumbled(or crumbling) mind of a has-been loved one, random stranger, or an enemy that just wasn't lucky enough, as the humanity and dignity is violently ripped from their body.


Quick Disclaimer: This will not retroactively cure ghouls of the condition, if they are already afflicted.


Any new Ghoul created will be crumb free!

@Kimo Thanks for the heads up! There were some changes to the MutantDef that I didn't catch, but it's fixed now!

@RedPine I just checked the function that heals hediffs on mutants and you're right! This will only cure the condition on newly created Ghouls, and not retroactively. Following the references, it seems a none dev way of getting a ghoul like it without the condition would be duplicating it with the obilisk, since the new pawn would have the ghoul trait newly applied! But yea, Going through devs would be the easiest way of curing an already afflicted ghoul.

The description should clarify that this mod only cures Crumbled Mind when applying ghoulification. A pawn that is already a ghoul will not get their crumbled mind cured without the help of dev mode or a pawn editor.

Thanks! I also found it odd that I couldn't cure mental issues with ghoulification, since all other organ defects are healed by it. Even the tooltip of crumbling mind says it disables complex work, which a ghoul can't do anyway.

I suppose it could probably be cured with decapitation and ghoul resurrection, but that's very janky. Luci would probably work, but I can't feed ghouls drugs, even though I could give someone luci first then ghoulify them later.

To cut a long rant short, this is some nice QoL.

@DaniAngione Yeah, I too couldn't get the imagery of a depressed anxious ghoul out of my mind.
But I want to believe, that at least in undeath I can free the pawns from the haunting visions that hurt them so :aunope::summer2019city:
