The lore goes that the "NX Refit" was named in honour of the Columbia NX-02 when it was missing, presumed destroyed with all hands in 2154 as President Archers way of honouring the memory of his old friend and captain of the Columbia, Erika Hernandez when the class was comissioned after the Earth-Romulan War as technically the Federation's first starship class.

Dont understand why its called Columbia Class, when its just an NX class with a secondary hull attached

Awsome I love this I have been looking for the Columbia class ever since I read the romulan war books for st: enterprise.
