[AIRCRAFT HISTORY]

The FALOTI Corp Pursuit Aircraft (Export) FP-25 was an attempt to broaden the corporation's burgeoning air fleet by subcontracting outside designers. In this case, the Alsatian-born Aloise Funklen was tasked with mating a powerful six-cylinder supercharged engine to the smallest and lightest possible airframe.

This effort was hampered initially by the fact that Funklen had lied on his application; he had never designed or flown an aircraft in his life. In between taking flying, engineering and business lessons at a local community college, he spent nights designing what would come to semi-affectionately be known among FALOTI Corp pilots simply as the "Francois".

Unfortunately, Funklen's time spent learning to design an aircraft instead of actually designing one would cost him dearly. By the time he completed his contract (with several years of extensions added), the aviation world had moved on from fixed-gear aircraft to aerodynamic stressed aluminum skin high performance flying machines. By the time this was discovered, middle management had already purchased 200 of the aircraft and had begun construction, so for better or for worse someone was going to be equipped with them.

It was not all bad. Despite the aircraft's shortcomings it was liked by pilots and served admirably as a rear echelon fighter. One complaint expressed early on was the difficulty in exiting the cockpit: management replied that pilots were expected to die in their seats and nothing more was ever said.

Its real moment to shine came during the Cola Wars which saw much more extreme combat than anyone could have expected. FALOTI Corp was able to divest itself of all of its fleet of 'Francois' fighters to the Coca Cola and Nestle corporations, who used them very effectively. Equipped with two light machine guns and two light cannons, it made short work of lesser equipped adversaries.

This one has seen a lot of use but should still have some life left in it. Good luck, pilot!

---------------------------

This aircraft is intended as a low-cost, low-overhead and effective fighter for use on the Sector Control Old School servers. It isn't the best fighter around but I think it's a damn sight better than most available on the workshop. All of the microcontrollers on it are mine except for the excellent ZE Modular Engine controller.

It is best flown by pressing [2] and switching into mouse flight mode.

This is equipped a speed governor to make it more suitable for the Sector Control speed limited servers. Your throttle will set the desired speed in knots, but that can be converted to whatever form of measurement you like by clicking on the microcontroller and selecting it. Immediately after takeoff it will tend to overspeed, but the moment you make an adjustment to the throttle once airborne it should work pretty much perfectly.
