Description
Unfortunately I do not have the time or desire to develop this mod further. I have not been able to track down the files related to the mod and therefore am basically leaving this upload as-is with this message as a disclaimer regarding it's broken state.

__________ The Otherworlder

"A pact is formed with the cosmic darkness above: The Otherworlder is an emissary sent here to learn, an unyielding plague of curiosity unleashed upon this world. The results of their studies suit our needs well, and the fate of the world is quartered like morsels of prey among wolves."

__________ Mechanics

Spawn Location:

This agent spawns at the Astral Beacon, a new pseudo-Wonder available in each game. This location has a permanent 'Otherworldly Influence' modifier, detailed below

Risks:

The Otherworlder has a chance to gain profile and menace when in locations with settlements. This can be prevented in minor settlements through 100% infiltration, or the location having one of the property modifiers from Otherworldly rituals. Cities have a much higher chance of triggering the menace and profile gain and can only be partially removed through Otherworldly properties or infiltration.

Intrigue: 3
Command: 1
Might: 1

By default, The Otherworlder has the "Otherworldly Biology" trait which allows its presence to offset the natural decay of his modifiers, prolonging their effects. In addition, mid-challenge events do not affect The Otherworlder.

Starting Trait options:

--Outpost Ambusher - if there is an Outpost modifier in a location that also has a Brutalized Ecosystem modifier, when the Otherworlder enters that location, the outpost is destroyed and world panic temporarily increases, but all agents' (except The Otherworlder) menace and profile reduces to minimum

--Advanced Stealth - Otherworldly Jaunt now reduces The Otherworlder's profile and menace to their minimums

--Dangerous Remains - places an Otherworldly Influence modifier at the location where The Otherworlder dies

Rituals and Modifiers:

--Otherworldly Jaunt - relocates The Otherworlder to the Astral Beacon, reducing their profile and menace by 20%

--Scout Specimens - places Specimen Harvest modifier at the location.
Specimen Harvest decreases population, increases unrest and madness.

--Study Local Ecosystem - places Brutalized Ecosystem modifier at the location.
Brutalized Ecosystem causes fluctuation of a location's temperature and terrain style, sometimes causing nations to expand there and inflicting Otherworldly Paranoia on any agents who enter.

--Construct Otherworldly Shapes - places Otherworldly Shapes modifier at that location.
Otherworldly Shapes disrupts units for 4 turns, inflicts Otherworldly Paranoia.

--Otherworldly Paranoia - can be inflicted by the Astral Beacon / Dangerous Remains 'Otherworldly Influence' modifiers, as well as at locations with Otherworldly Shapes and Brutalized Ecosystem. Acts as a cooldown for being disrupted by the above mechanics, but has a chance of damaging sanity each turn until it fades.

__________ Known Issues

-Astral Beacon still sometimes has issues spawning if other mods are present. Seems to be fixed by putting it higher in load order. Looking into it now

-otherworldly jaunt doesn't always properly reset the available tasks at the astral beacon. it doesn't seem to affect much, and i have a few methods in place to avoid it if possible

this is my first real mod for any game ever, and it was created as part of a ModJam within our Discord community.

A ModJam is an event where modders of any skill level come together and try to create something within the game under certain constraints like a time limit or a theme. Its about learning how to make new content and being creative. There are guides available as well as a friendly community willing to help out. Stop by if you have any interest!
i'm more active in the discord community but feel free to report bugs with player log info and whatnot and I'll try to get it sorted!

Thank you for your interest in my mod! Unfortunately I am not able to continue its development. Apologies for the bugs I was never able to squash.

Also when I use the "towards your faith" at The Entrance, it doesn't send me there. One other thing is I was standing on a farm and did not have one of the challenges. God was Living Void.

This bugged out for me after I loaded a save while doing the challenge for larger cities.

have received some bug reports from users regarding crashes from Construct OW Shapes and possibly certain recruit conditions. I can't promise I'll get to it right away but I am looking into it!

regarding my post June 4: pushed out an update addressing the previous issues. Restructured with less ambiguity, more null checks

It has come to my attention that my mod is likely throwing some errors that might not come up as showing my mod as the source

I would use this mod with caution until I can look into this more. This weekend I will have some time and will follow up with a solution hopefully

Mod looks cool, I love to play with insanity and unrest alike so that agent is perfect for me
