Hertz Dynamic Reckoning Grudges

Description

Its like liquid gold for a modder

Mod Version: v1.00

Hertz dynamic Age of Reckoning Grudges is a mod that tweaks the amount of grudges needed for consecutive cycles. This mod aims to fix the exponential increase of the grudge cycle of the first update of ToD, and give a dynamic option that only looks at the amount of grudges gained in the previous cycle, and increases that by 20%.

(This mod is save-game compatible)

Main Features
This mod looks at the amount of grudges gained within a cycle, and adds 20% top that to get 100% in the next cycle.

For example:
The player has gotten 3000/4400 grudges at the final turn of the grudge cycle.
The next turn if the player chooses to continue the cycle, the amount of grudges required for 100% is 3000 + 20% = 3600.

With this setup you will never have the problem of requiring an insane amount of grudges, but does not make it too easy to get to a 100% for each cycle.

Grudge Fallback
To make sure the grudge cycle is never too easy there is a fallback.
If the required amount of grudges is very low, there is a fallback with a obtainable amount of grudges which starts at 2000 grudges from turn 1, and increases by 60 per turn.
The fallback triggers when the calculated required grudges is below the fallback amount.

For example:
Next cycle grudges is 4100
Grudge fallback is 5600
Grudge fallback is higher, so next cycle the player needs 5600 grudges to get 100%

Was this made before or after 5.0.3?

for some reason, the turns are changed to 10 instead of 15, and the army generated is bigger than normal :S

@Slytherite I'm interested, myself. This system seems a lot better.

does this still work with the latest hotfixes to the AoR?

@Blazed Kofe I feel like dwarf hotfix just moved in the same direction as well, but in different way and this system imo is superior due to not pushing you to play ultra aggressive at all times. I can again just chill with my 1-2 provinces and when I ride out to get gudgin, the feedback will incentivise that with ability to slow down.

Genuinely curious:
Doesn't this heavily incentivize slow expansion and never going above 100%?
With the vanilla system you're incentivized to not look beyond your borders, but always keep a steady pace of expansion. And if you go beyond the 100% that's just less grudges to settle in the next age of reckoning.
But with this mod if you go beyond 100% you make your next age of reckoning exponentially harder.

I do appreciate the effort put into this and I'm stoked to see you figured out how to modify it, I couldn't figure it out.
Looking forward to test it out a bit!

Has anyone tested this in multiplayer? Looks like exactly what I need to make a Dwarf + Empire campaign work the way we want it to work.

I might be able to add some Mod Configuration Tool functionality so you can edit the Increasing % and the cycle turn count.
This is just me thinking, not a promise. Free time is limited nowadays
