Journal of Conrad Azohi - Day 1,350 after embarking

The last two weeks, people have been coming to this town, seemingly to see my companions and I. We're slowly beginning to learn the language, and apparently they're disturbed by us because they realize we came from Atro, which they call "Auwar'Tor." Many who come only stare, but some try to speak to us. Others yell and make strange gestures, but some apparent authorities in this town will expel those who yell.

We still aren't being allowed to leave, but we also aren't treated as prisoners. We're allowed to wander wherever we want in town. However, it is strange to have wide eyes fixed on your everywhere you walk, so we've been staying by our wagon most days. However, occasionally a figure will stop by and demand we spend time with them. While we are trying to learn the local language, most words are unknown to us. Some phrase keeps getting repeated, which I think is best transliterated as "yanvir'id yantad auwar."

We are still unsure what is meant when these words are said, but they seem important. I need to find out what they mean, but I can't learn the language when I'm isolated from the people of the town as I am. So, I'd been trying to develop friendships.

Today, I made contact again with the villager who gave me the crystal precursor from my last entry. He didn't know what I was asking, but he eventually started showing me what to do with the powder. Apparently, first, it's crushed in a small vessel, which shifts it to a stabilized iron form.

I showed him that I could approximate the same process with my alchemy engine. I'm recording the original process here. One detail is that the quicksilver component is technically not needed, but I include it for accuracy in reflecting the original reagents.
