Zizo's FishFinder

Description
This is a fish finder monitor that works with the 1x1 and 2x2 monitors.
Make sure you place all sensors correctly.
The AI generated picture is there for all the people that are annoyed by AI.

Features
  • Shows horizontal placement of the fish compared to the boat and update positions depending on movement and heading.
  • Shows the fish depth in the bottom third graph, from 0 to 100 meters.
  • Touch a fish on the screen to display its depth.

Installation
  • Have a Distance Sensor, on the bottom of your boat, facing the seafloor.
  • Have a Physics Sensor, upright, big arrow facing forward, small arrow facing right.
  • Have a Fish Finder Sensor, place it upside down, facing forward, with the positive arrow facing clockwise from a top-down perspective.
  • Double check the last 2 sensor placement with the provided image.
  • Connect all to the microcontroller and to a 2x2 or 1x1 monitor.
  • Have fun.

I suggest you use this autopilot when fishing, as it allows for navigating in a circle around a fish hotspot and waypoint.
Here is a useful spreadsheet[docs.google.com] about all the fish data I managed to collect.

Credits to ChatGPT for the picture and some of the trigonometry.

will the fish finder detect NPC's in the water?

Just for the record, I'm not annoyed by AI. I'm annoyed by this big propaganda push they're making to habituate us to it by flooding the media with supposedly good things it's supposedly doing. I'm waiting to find out what they're trying to set us up for.

AI itself, I'm not annoyed by. I'm worried about what they're going to do with it. :P

Make sense. Again awesome work. You probably noticed that your fish finder is quite standard on youtube now lol. As for constructive criticism, I would suggest to display the current depth on your fish finder. I do have a boat myself and they all do (it is also super useful).

What you could do in, on the bottom part, remove the "50m" label and display the current dept instead. We can figure out the whole range by seeing your 100m label anyway. The 50 is a bit useless.

Hello @djgmusial, ss far as I know there is no sensor that detects crabs/lobsters.
Hello @Frag2000, it's the average depth of all currently displayed fishes. The fish detector does not measure the sea depth and its range is limited to 100 meters.

Hi, Will this be updated for the lobster/crab update or will you make a finder for them separately?
Frag2000 16 Aug, 2024 @ 8:54am
Thanks for the answer, kinda of a dumb question but it is not clear to me. On the display, is the average depth is the average depth of all fishes, or the average depth of the ocean (since you could move super quickly).

Hello @Frag2000, the color fades out with a timer, doesn't mean much if only how old the detection is.

Good work, very well done! Does the pixel color for the fishes means anything?

@SpectroDecibels Did you ever get it to work? I cant find it in my Inventory either.
