Description
A once-abandoned warehouse has been confiscated by Al-Qatala forces. Great asymmetrical map that mixes interior and exterior combat.




I was playing around the idea of making a Call of Duty map for Garry's Mod for ages now, but I didn't quite know where to start. I shortlisted Vacant as one of the potential maps I wanted to make and eventually settled on it as I do like the map design and aesthetics. Since there were already versions on the workshop that are based on the Call of Duty 4 version, I decided to instead base it off the Modern Warfare 2019 version. There was only one issue though, I didn't own the game.

Yes, I could just buy the game from Steam and go from there. However the game is expensive and was still expensive even on sale. So instead, I had to go through hours and hours of gameplay footage and reference images on the official Call of Duty website which was painful. I also gave up trying to be aesthetically faithful to the 2019 version and instead went with a mix of COD 4 and MW19 elements. This is also the second map I have made to fully utilize Phong reflections on brushes (introduced in June 2023 update) and likely one of the very few on the workshop to use it, to my anger.

Everything is AI noded and there is a nav mesh.

I love to test weapons on npcs in this map.

Cheers, we use a custom lua addon to manually set farz to boost fps or limit line of sight. But it only works on maps with a env_fog_controller entity so I have a bit of a bias motive. I doubt anyone would notice the performance enhancement but we use the map for 40-70 players lol

Hey man, my server loves this map. However, if you were to ever recompile/update the map could you add env_fog_controller ?
Setting a farz to 4000 would have no visual impact to players but would help stabilise fps as it gives a set render for the engine to follow instead of the default -1

Bravo, this looks like a fantastic rendition of Vacant. Think Imma use this for a Realism NPC battle video at some point. Vacant is a great map to restore to Gmod I like your COD4 MW2019 hybrid take on it.

For some reason I don't understand, you haven't made ai_nodes for the map. If you have some free time and desire, could you please make them? >:)
