Rana III-class cargo hauler

The Rana III-class (meaning Frog in Latin) cargo hauler is the third iteration of the line, aiming to improve on everything set before it with the earlier models of the Rana line of ships. At its heart, the Rana III-class retains the rounded, bulbous shape that is iconic of the class whilst working to improve on everything that it can. With more engines for extra speed and thrust, a similar storage capacity, the retained mining laser and even more defence, the Rana III-class is the next tentative step for the line. However, it takes it even further with the placement of a central steel smelter, allowing the ship to turn bigger profits by manufacturing the raw mined iron into more useful, and valuable, steel plates.

Whilst the Rana III-class might not be as fast or quite as high in capacity than the Rana II-class, its increased defence from pirates as well as the steel smelter for higher profit returns will quickly recuperate the investment.
