HIMS Queenshound

An experimental design based off of previous classes of cruiser, the Queenshound aviation cruiser features the facilities for the launch, retrieval, and support of six floatplane bombers, acting as a supplement to its own onboard armament or as a limited independent strike force. Lacking the true punch of a carrier air wing, it is most often employed alongside bombardment forces such as monitors and other second line ships, although it has seen success in augmenting more traditional patrol and screening forces. Crucially, the class facilitated developing effective coordination between air and naval forces, and the lessons of its usage were shortly put to use when the first dedicated aircraft carriers entered service shortly after.
