Imagine a Pringles can that was cybernetically modified to become part of the inevitable robot uprising. Cylindroids have are equipped with cannons and even rocket boosters and are very fast, but are not waterproof. They were made to protect Omicron from outside invaders and also supposedly to fix any problems on the ecosystem inside, such as a sudden increase of a predatory species or dramatic temperature change that could lead to the extinction of a species or two. But somewhere along the line, they became extremely aggressive and now cause problems rather than fixing them.
