ST-2 R Newt Light Tank

The workhorse of the Martian Red Army, the Newt can be found in almost every MSR ground operation in great numbers. They are fast, cheap and easy to drive, using speed as their armour on the battlefield to circle the enemy. It also features a number of warheads hidden in its hull, as well as a proximity detonator. Under desperate circumstances, or if under the command of a particularly fanatical driver, the Newt can be used to ram enemy vehicles and installations to deadly effect, eviscerating the tank in the process.

It is lightly armoured and has no defence against infantry, making it vulnerable when stationary or unsupported. Their ammunition is also limited to what they need in order to cut costs to a minimum. The Newt is best used on an open front for flanking maneuvers or in massed formations, but will perform poorly on a static front with less open terrain.
