Description

"The Mingtang is where the Son of Heaven performs rituals and holds audience. Built in the arcane ways of heaven and earth and following the operations of elements, it wards off disasters and turmoils."

After Wu Zetian consolidated her power and annihilated those who dare to oppose her, she commisioned the construction of a Mingtang ("Illustrious Hall") at Luoyang in 688, also known as the Divine Palace of Myriad Images. The architectural design of the Divine Palace of Myriad Images incorporated Chinese traditional astronomical and cosmological concepts. Its round roof and square base reflected the belief that the heaven is round and the earth is square at that time. Its three floors represented the four seasons, twelve shichens and twenty-four solar terms. Atop of it were nine dragons looking up at a fenghuang (a divine bird). These designs indicated the relationship between the ruler and the world. As a place of paying tribute to the heaven and earth and issuing edicts, the Divine Palace of Myriad Images was the center of Wu Zetian's regime, until it was destroyed in fire.

Spread 1000 religious pressure to cities within 6 tiles when activating a Great Person; also expands city borders if activated in home territory. Must be built adjacent to the City Center, and you must have founded a Religion. +1 Great Person points of each type Unlocked at the Civil Service civic.

Supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.

We have never seen this phenomenon. Maybe it is over capacity of assets in your game?

@Crudestwalnut81 it last for very few years, ruined by fire and war, and left a foundation only. no one knew what it actually looks like

Its historical context has already been written on this page and in the in-game civilopedia. It actually existed and is based on the Divine Palace of Myriad Images (aka Mingtang at Luoyang) built by Wu Zetian.
