Description
Opened a Ko-Fi account. Nobody asked me to and you gain nothing by tipping. If you like my nations enough that you still want to tip here's the link: https://ko-fi.com/casusbelli42

Blodwold is a germanic/slavic/celtic nation worshiping trees and thanking them for all their hard work with human sacrifices. Your druids can sacrifice those pure of blood and during those sacrifices a sacred tree may awaken. That tree can then perform rituals to grow in power. Like Pangaea you can also grow bramble forts in forests, but by enticing the plants with blood rather than nature magic. You also have access to some nifty summons. Also don't forget to gather your chieftains and druids to elect a King !

The nation is inspired by the roman accounts of Druidic and Germanic human sacrifices, particularly the grove of Fetters. The clothing and overall look is somewhat inspired by the movie Midsommar.

Very cool mod. I've got a few suggestions for improvements.

- Maybe add #slave to the Thralls? It will reduce their upkeep and make them a bit more viable.

- Please add #pooramphibian to Bloodthirsty Saplings. The Gotteneik has poor amphibian and it freespawns these saplings.

- The Nahrkorp will turn undead when they get promoted. If the commander doesn't have undead leadership, they will be left behind, which is a bit janky. There's no easy way to solve this in the early game, so I have 3 possible solutions:

1) Add a sacred commander with decent leadership. This will allow the player to add undead leadership to their bless to solve the problem this way.
2) Add #almostliving to the Nahrkorp, which will make it so that they require regular leadership rather than undead leadership, while keeping all the other strengths and weaknesses of an undead unit.
3) Add a commander which has both leadership and undead leadership in equal amounts.

@usarmy16 You have to do blood sacrifices until you get a tree to spawn. Then you cast the two tree spells you start with and then you get your god tree.

How do you get God trees? Does the Seedling Pretender eventually promote or does it stay a tier 1 Pretender the whole game?

Loving this mod, playing on a stupidly large earth map and gradually grinding my way across it in a forest of death. God Trees are rather powerful super combatants... but they become even more fun if they get in hall of fame, and then die.... because if you bring them back as a mummy they have all their previous advantages but now get full slots. Divine mummy god tree is hilarious

thank you for your helpful reply
thats really cool. perhaps ypu can make a "start event" in turn one that explains things like this :)

@captain einsicht You get bloodthirsty youngling when blood sacrificing inside your own dominion. The chance of getting one is 2*(province dominion score) % per turn per province. So if a province has 5 dominion strength, you have a 10% chance of getting a bloodthirsty youngling in that province per turn if you have a priest blood sacrificing.
