Description
The entire room is a layout, keep in mind this is technically my first layout so the quality isnt the greatest.
Also keep in mind this thing Is HUGE. I've probably spent close to 50 hours working on this project alone.

My inspiration for this was simple, I see so many IRL train layouts suffer from attachment to realism. They are either based on a real place, or a are a fictional place based in reality. I wanted to do away with that. I have written some bare bones lore, although it gets kinda goofy, but you can leave that out if you want:

Basically there are these little people who live on this "layout" they see it as their world, but they cant travel through the barriers by traditional means.

The Barriers separate the layout into 15 (technically 16) zones. Each Zone is a different sort of vibe, some are biomes and some are just general themes, and some have little people and some dont. The 16 zones are: Null, Calminia, Barotia, Harrot, Norvik, Walpurgis, Lunas Corridor, Everoak, Exotica, Ortem, Dunic, Cocorun, Volcaros, Lonelom, Prisabore, and Skyfall.

Ortem was the first zone to figure out trains can be used for travel between zones. There are populated zones, Calminia, Harrot, Walpurgis, Ortem, and Lonelom. Lonelom is the only populated zone without a train.

The 15th zone, Skyfall is the grave of a great Sky Leviatihan. It wrought havok upon the little people for a long time, before it died in what was originally a burned forest. This was after turning Barotia into a wasteland snagging a boat from the waters of Cocorun.

-This is where stuff gets silly, if you want just the reasonable lore do the stuff above.

Since Im a frickin weeb and not paying to much attention to making hard lore, Harrot has Bunny people and Walpurgis has cat people.

Occasionally, a train that belongs to none of the zones will run through, always being traced back to Zone 0 - Null. Its always weeb or meme stuff for some reason...

There is only one regular train from Null, the BKU (Boy Kisser Ultimate) Which comes on Wednesdays, reaching Calmin First, and Lonelom last.

------------------------------------

Here are some fun facts about the zones:

-Calminia was my not so great attempt at modeling my home state of Colorado. (Elevation is something I need to learn)
-Walpurgis Castle was called Jack's Castle when I hadnt thought of the city name yet.
-Walpurgis got its name when I learned what a Walpurgis Night was! --- by watching Reincarnated as a Slime season 2.....
-I got the idea for the Lunas Corridor while listening to Infinity Chasers by Fractal Dreamers
-Ortem is just Metro backwards. Basic I know.
-In Lonelom, there is a little grey building below the sign. That building was the first asset placed aside from tables and track.
-Skyfall is named after a Whalefall. (which is when a whale dies, and its skeleton sinks to the sea floor becoming an 80 year reef for wild life.)
-The Sky Leviathan Is based of a creation from Lego I challenged myself to make. My goal was to create an organic creature from three of the stunt jet sets. I actually succeeded somewhat, creating a really cool looking Dragon.

I made a four part video series on my youtube channel if for some reason you want to listen to me ramble as I made the layout.
